Chapter Nine

~Amberly's Point of View~
• "BEEP BEEP BEEP!" I opened my eyes and sat up stretching and kicking my covers off. Today is my birthday! I am officially 17 years old! I waltzed over to my closet to pick out something to wear. Its my birthday so I can wear whatever I want to. Plus, its the day I find out if I made the varsity cheer squad or not. Also, its homecoming week!

I looked through my closet and found a dark pink sweatshirt that said Class Act in black letters, a pair of denim high waisted shorts, and some dark brown sandals. I put that on and did my hair and makeup. I straightened my hair and braided a strand, then, boby pinned it to the back of my head so it wrapped around the side of head ((if you understand that lol)).

I grabbed my things and walked down the stairs to find balloons taped to a chair in the kitchen. I sat at the chair and my dad chirped "Happy Birthday my beautiful princess!" "Thanks dad" I smiled. He set a plate in front of me that had waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and strawberries. "Mmm, looks delicious" I laughed. "Ooh, let me go get your present!" He said running up the stairs. "You didn't have to get me anything, you already rented out Tom's Diner for me, thats enough for me" I laughed. "No, I have to get you a present, Im your dad" he joked.

"Plus, you got me that gorgeous car in the driveway" I teased. "Oh, shut up and open your gift" he laughed eagerly. I grabbed the neatly wrapped box and slowly unwrapped the wrapping paper. When all the wrapping paper was off and on the floor, a beautiful hand carved wooden box was sitting there in front of me.

"Its gorgeous" I gasped. I ran my finger over the engraved initials, my initials, A.M.D. Amberly Marie Daniels. Thats mt full name. "You like it?" He asked. "Yes!" I exclaimed, "I love it" I said hugging him. "Look inside" I nodded and opened the delicate box.

And saw a picture of me, mom, and, dad when I was eight. The I picked up the picture revealing a beautiful sterling silver charm bracelet with many charms like a dancer, a music notes, hearts, and a wolf howling. my heart sank and tears started to sting my eyes. "It was your mother's, the bracelet." my dad said softly gripping my shoulder. I nodded and wiped away a tear that escaped my eye.

Truth is, I am really touched about the box and the picture, but I am freaked out. The wolf on that bracelet, what if, in my dreams, that was me trying to remember my mom. I mean, she didn't like it when I talked about vampires and werewolves, or even wolves. But I was a kid so of course I would be into that stuff. Which doesn't make sense that she a had a wolf charm on her bracelet.

I decided not to think about this on my birthday, I will ask later or something but I have to stay positive today. I hugged my dad once more and put the box up in my room, on my night stand. I put the bracelet on and felt chills go throughout me, maybe its because it was my mom's. "Thanks for the present and breakfast dad, love you! See you later!" I yelled walking out the door.

I finally checked my phone to see that I had 7 new messages. They were from Carter, Nash, Jack, Jack, Renesmee, Matt, and Connor. I got simple 'happy birthday' from most of them and I replied with 'thank you'. I opened Matt's last, I don't know why but I did.

From: Matt♡: Good morning Angel, I wish you the best 17th birthday in the world and good luck with your cheer thingy. Have an amazing day, see you soon!

To: Matt♡: Thank you so much! You just made my day! See you soon!

~I got into my car and drove to school.

•I walked to my locker because I didn't see Matt or Jack, or anyone at that. I mean, its only 6:25. I don't know why I am here thus early but oh, well. I saw that my locker had been decorated with streamers and cards that said 'Happy Birthday Amberly!' I smiled and picked off a card that stuck out to me, it had violets on it and said in cursive Happy Birthday my beautiful flower...
