Variegates (variegating)
Mixing up, variegating, the ingredients and activities was important to Eddy. He didn't want to eat only paprika, or only asparagus or, heaven forbid, only mushrooms. He also didn't just want to watch TV or do backflips for exercise. And so it didn't come to a surprise that Eddy hated repeating the same thing over and over again. Unless it was practicing on his violin of course. And rewatching old anime and rereading old manga. Or stare at his best friend for now over 15 years over and over again. Sneaking little glances at first, then fully blown out stares. Especially when they were in a less dressed state.
If he was in a manga, he definitely would have nosebleed over and over again until he died of anemia. Brett wasn't the most shredded dude, not at all. But the softness he portrayed was so very alluring. In the time when Brett lost a lot of weight because he was in and out of the hospital was dreadful for Eddy. Not only because his friend was sick, but also all the softness was gone. Not, months later, Brett was as healthy as one could be and looked like it too. He currently stood in Eddy's bedroom, since he had a full body mirror, and looked at his reflection. His soft hands patted the soft belly and he tilted his head to the side. His expression didn't give away his thoughts so Eddy had a hard time grasping what Brett thought. Was he pleased or displeased?
His friend sighed and put on his shirt again before flopping down on the bed where Eddy sat. Brett snuggled his head onto Eddy's lap and sighed again.
The younger man stroked through the soft strands in an attempt to comfort his friend if he needed that, "Penny for your thoughts?"
But Brett just shook his head and as Eddy threaded his hand through the soft locks. He simply enjoyed their time together, that he had another chance with Brett. That was all. That he was given a second chance was a miracle in itself. So now he would treasure all his time with his friend.
And only his friend. Brett had the operation to remove the flowers two months ago. And Eddy only knew it because the hospital bill was sent to their address, not Brett's private ones. So it was very bad timing that Eddy felt the scratching in his throat and coughed up very small little petals. It was the worst timing indeed.
