The Fox Witch

Part 1

Eddy trekked up the rocky mountain side, it's path was well walked by many archeologists like him. After all he was on a dig site, the mountain side was littered with ancient walls made of large rocks – most were overgrown now – and some outlines of huts that were no longer intact.

Those, however, were not his goal. His goal was the burial shrine that part of the team thought they may have found.

The shrine was not as massive as one would think, but it was carved into a mountain. That was quite impressive. Sadly enough it was in bad shape. The entrance was half buried so one had to really duck and make themselves small to practically crawl into it. The other archaeologists were nervous about opening up the door more, in case it was integral to the structure and everything would be crumbling down if touched further. As of now, it was inconvenient but safe.

As junky and bad as it looked on the outside, it was perfectly intact on the inside.

Rich beddings and floorings were to be seen, the altar was dusty but still intact, one could even see the deep slash markings on it from various rituals. Sturdy iron candle holders were scattered all across the room. Small and big chests were everywhere - no surprise here - and they were in pretty good shape as well, especially the stone ones. The sides were lined with decorative, albeit partly ripped, religious carpets on the wall.
