It's *only* 12 Chapters so its a fairly short one compared to our other stuff.
The cover is by Geertwhim the wonderful, wonderful person :D
Have fun and please tell me what you think about this new turn on Breddy in the comments. Thank you!
Chapter 1 of "A Hedgehogs Velocity"
Rain was nothing new in Brissy. In the lovely, mostly sunny Brisbane, Australia. But rain was not rain, oh no.
This was a shitton of rain. One would say, it was closer to a waterfall than actual rain. And that one would be right. Brett, young and not very athletic and cardio loathing, ran through the pouring rain, his head ducked and hidden underneath a baseball cap. Man he hated rain! He didn't even have an umbrella with him because the liar of a weatherman forecast it to be sunny.
It was very apparently not sunny right now.
The bespectacled asian man found short term shelter at a bus station. Hopefully it would lighten up a bit, but he had no hope for that. The low hanging dark grey clouds told a different story.
The streets were almost drowning in so much water and the street's drains were overflowing at some point.
Brett let his eyes wander, contemplating his life choices to end up here. Was bubble tea really worth it? He looked down at his almost empty drink. Damn, yes it was. A high pitched shriek let him whip his head around, only to see a small hedgehog rushing past him.
What the hell? It seemed that the poor animal was washed away!
For a split second his decision Brett regretted his decision, but in the end, he let the bubble tea fall to the ground as he ran after the poor little guy. Thankfully the drain was overflown so the poor little fella wasn't sucked down the garish black hole of unending death.
Brett sprang onto the street and bent down, the rain pouring over his face and glasses. Carefully he wrapped his scarf around the prickly boy - he didn't want to get stung by it - and lifted it up.
"Hey boy. You are safe now," he whispered to the animal. Hopefully he wouldn't get bitten by the ferocious creature. It would be very unfortunate to be injured when all he did was try to help.
The creature curled up on itself, still screaming. The thing might have been little but it sounded like it had big lungs, because man, that thing could shriek! Even though rescued, the creature was still in distress. After all, it had been swept away by the rain on the side of the road, and now was picked up by a scary monster that could eat it! It was big enough to just swallow him whole!
