I wake up to the sound of my alarm ring tone and check the time is 7 AM and my work starts at 8. So far, this week has been the most hectic week of my life.My everyday routine mainly consists of wake up,pray, work, coffee and repeat. I have meals now and then if I can in between appointments and checkups.
Few of our doctors were on a holiday and now stuck abroad.
Due to flights closure they are unable to return.
Even me and and my family had plans to make a visit to Bangladesh but before we could book tickets lockdown happened.
It's a good thing we did not leave or else I'd have a guilt breakdown due to the fact that my colleagues will be working while I'll be vacationing.
I get up and walk to the washroom.
I brush my teeth as I groggily check myself out in the mirror. My eye bags are getting worse due to the late nights shifts I work and my cheekbones look so high due to lack of nutrition in my body.
One would mistake me as a French model for the lack of body fat I have deduced.
I have already prayed the morning's prayer so I can just get ready now.
I choose a mid knee length extra loose shirt and some baggy jeans.I usually wear something longer but today I might have to be in a surgery to assist so I don't want to delay the pre- process.
I seriously do not have the energy in me to make breakfast.
But I haven't had dinner too last night, so there's a big chance I might collapse at work if I skip the breakfast meal.
I walk towards my kitchen and see a note from Sera stuck in the refrigerator.
It said "Heading off to work, emergency on call duty but reheated some donuts I made last time and made you some smoothie. Please for lord's sake have it before you go."
I smile as I put the note down and lift the lid up from the container and the entire room is filled with donuts smell.
I take out a plate and put four donuts and fill my glass with some kale smoothie.
I eat as I scroll through my phone.
My brother and his wife visited some place in Scotland few days back, so he sent me the pictures.
I chew the last bite and put my phone aside.
I take the plate and glasses to the sink and put the plate in the dishwasher. Just as I turn I hear my phone ring.
It's my mother FaceTiming me. "Hello"
"Hi baby, how're you?"
"I am fine mum, how are you all?" I say while looking at her.
