I don't know what to tell her. Should I just tell her the truth entirely?
No. She can't handle it yet. I'll just tell her some bits of it and save all of the rest for later.
But what the heck am I supposed to say? Whatever I'll just say the beginning of how it initially started. Technically I won't be lying then.
"So.. are you gonna say it or not mate?" She says looking at curiously to which I reply "yes have a seat I'll explain it all to you"
"So begin" she says as I nod at her and start the fairy/made tale.
"So.. as you know I am a professional assassin and I get offered deals like killings or assassinate and many dark stuff you wouldn't want to know.." she gulps down as I continue further..
Well it's not entirely true but I don't want to reveal personal details to her. She asked me the truth not my darn biography.
"Few days back I received a call.. from Thomas's assistant and was asked to meet him at one of his clubs - where he gave me your file with your picture on it.. he wanted me to kidnap you and bring you to him so he can win you over.."
"Now I don't take deals randomly.. if I take a kill for the day I make sure the person I am killing is not guilt-free.. call it morals or whatever but I try my best to avoid killing any innocent so my first question to Thomas was weather he wants to sell you? Or export you or basically do anything to harm you..
But he said me he is in love with you and would do anything to win you over.. even though his words lacked of sincerity I was half sure to talk the deal so I said yes"
She shakes her head in disapproval obviously showing she doesn't like my acceptance of the offer but I regardless continue.
"So I received your file and started preparing and eventually managed to capture you but.. but what didn't know was that Xavier was a sick bastard and he just wants you as his and he can do anything to get what he wants hence for now I have taken a halt to this deal"
She looks at me puzzled before saying "so where does that put me Xavier?"
I look at her confused as she continues "In your whole plan where am I? My consent? Am I yours or Thomas's plaything? No. I am not because I am of my own. I have a job, a family a life to get back to for god's sake"
"Look, Eliza I know you think I am an asshole but if I just leave you out now.. do you know what's gonna happen?" She shakes her head in no.
"He's going to hire someone else to do the job. It's as simple as that. And who knows what thinks he has planned for you? I need to make sure to find a solution before setting you free."
"What do you mean?" She asked
"Once he finds out you're out of my territory he's going to make sure to strike soon as he can Eliza which is why I have been trying to come up with something to distract him for a while and the snow storm was just another blessing in disguise"
Standing up she said " so you mean the second the snow storm will be over I'll be in danger?"
Shaking my head I say "No. not on my watch"
"But what I am asking you for the time being is your corporation"

He stands up too and says " then I am afraid you'll be out of my clutches and soon in his.. look I am trying to do something nice for once and if you don't corporate then the one non benefiting is you not me because Thomas is well aware that he cannot touch me and if he does he'll be declaring a war which he'll very much lose"
Shaking my head I say "no I need time to go through this and myself, please give me some time to think"
Nodding he said "sure try taking a nap we'll talk later and I'll ask Flo not to disturb you meanwhile and give you some space"
I nod at him as I head out.
For the first time I am not excited to head back to my room. I close the door behind as I lean towards the door. Ya Allah what has my life become?
I did not expect such turn in events at this stage of my existence. I am so tired and for the first time I am not happy about being tired.
Whenever during hospital late shifts I used get exhausted it often came with an element of content as I knew my hard work is being paid off. But now? I am not sure anymore.
I just want a rest from this charade. Laying in the bed I close my eyes as I drift to sleep.
