After getting the injection we are again back to driving.
He hasn't uttered a word since the threat he made in the doctor's cabin. I too didn't dare to make any sound in fear of waking the lion next to me.
My body is hungry, sleep deprived and feeling very sore, oh god what if it's my period date?
No, last time I checked I am done for this month so I rest in silence. But after the injection I need to sleep for atleast two to three hours however knowing that Ezra has a gun and what not my eyes refuse to shut down.
How can a person stay silent for so long? Like he literally has his lips formed a thin line and is driving like his life depends on it.
He has to be something else because a normal human doesn't function in this manner.
I have decided that no matter where this thing goes, even if I die I'll stay strong and not give in. My parents have taught me better than to just give up!
My stomach can't take it any longer, ahhh.
Just as I shift to the other side my stomach grumbles.. that too loudly. Wow way to ruin my demeanour in front of my kidnapper.
He sends me look asking if that was me. I look in the same way with no expressions in my face.
"Are you hungry?"
What do I say to this? If I say yes than what if he puts a bomb in my food but most importantly where will he get the food? I can't eat American food, it's not halal.
"When I ask you something, you answer"
"Yes I am a bit hungry but I can't have the normal food you guys have I need to go to a Halal restaurant for that."
He gives me a mocking look and utters "who said anything about a restaurant? If you want I can take a stop at any convenience store?"
Wow where is The Xavier who threatened me before and what have you done to him?
"Yeah sure"
I'll keep my answers short so that it saves me from any trouble this guy will cause.
He nods at me and takes a U turn to stop at the convenience store. I fix my scarf in the rear view mirror and get out of the car.
"Don't even think of trying anything" He says with a skeptical face.
"I wasn't"
We both walk to the store and I put on a fake smile on my face to prevent any stares.
"What will you have?"
He looks at me like I asked him something funny and proceeds to speak "nothing, you can have whatever you want and than we're out of here"
I ignore him and look at the racks to find many snacks options like Korean Ramen or Cheesecakes.
Before putting them in the cart I check for the halal verified sticker and then put it in the tray. After taking about four to five snacks I head towards the table area not without Ezra following me.
I take the hot water from the boiling pot and put it in the packets as I prepare to pairs of chopsticks.
"Ezra sit down" "Finish up before I drag you out"
This guy is is a conceited jerk, that's what he is and impossible to deal with.
"Sit down, now you don't want me to make a scene right?" I put the most mocking expression on my face as I watch him grit his teeth in anger.
Nonetheless he sits down and uttering few profanities which were too low for me to hear.
"Take the chopstick and follow my actions" I say as I figured he wouldn't know how to use them.
Before I can actually take the chopsticks and show him how it's done he grasps the chopsticks from my hands and starts eating the snacks. "I can use chopsticks, thank you very much."
The sarcasm was dripping from every inch and I couldn't help but smile at his actions.
What the? Why why the heck are you smiling?
I ignore my subconscious and star slurping down the food. My body feels a tad bit light after I take few more bites.
"I am done" I say after chewing my last bite.
"Let's go than, go and ask how much is it all together?" I nod at him as I ask the cashier for the bill.
Taking the bill from her hand I hand it over to him " 17$" he nods and hands out a twenty dollar bill and asks the cashier to keep the change.

After clearing the bill we are back to driving again. Well well looks like driving is one of the things we both are going to enjoy because you know what ? I have realised that no matter how bad the situation is, I am kind of enjoying the silence I am getting.
