I enter the venue to be bewildered by the amount of media. It's not usually this much but I am quite used to the exposure so doesn't really matter.I walk to the entrance as the man standing in the gateway opens the double sided door. My eyes are tranced with the amount of light and brightness.
I am soon now greeted by Michelle who is the main host for tonight.
"Tom! Hello, how are you?" She greets me with a hug. I reply her by saying "Hi Michelle, I am fine how are you?"
"I am good, congratulations on winning the award!" I smile at her and we make some small talk.
To be honest I don't really give a damn about these ceremonies, it's just another publicity stunt for me. I couldn't care less about the healthcare or any other community service professions.
(In case you forgot, he is not the main male lead so he is a jerk but the main male lead is a even bigger jerk so lol)
As I talk with some investors of the today's event, I hear a feminine laughter across the room. I turn around to be in a trance ... I think I just saw the most beautiful woman ever in my life.
Trust me, I've had my fair share of women and none seem to shock me but this woman looks out of the world.
Her features are so not American.
she has such sharp facial attributes with a perfect long nose and high cheekbones. Her hazel eyes looked like they were out of a edited magazine and her perfectly long lashes made them even graceful. The way her natural eyebrows looked even better than plucked ones and the way her dimples deepened with every smile.
She looked so good in that sparkly white dress with a veil on her head and looked so different from anyone near her.
I could tell she was not Christian as I've seen some of my Muslim staff wear that.
It's like she bloomed with grace while others just complimented her appearance.I watch her order a drink and chat with another female. With every move she does my body gets stiff. What the actual heck is happening to me?
Taking interest in her will do me no good because she is a government employee and I do not want to get involve in that mess.
The last thing I would want is her exposing my crimes to the public eye. And given that she is a medical employee I am sure staying honest is her favourite hobby.
Trying to ignore her I chat with some businessmen and women talking about the services the healthcare job holders provide.

.After a while Michelle approaches me "Tom, remember I said to introduce someone? The young pharmacist that won the award last year?"
I recollect my thinking and nod at her as she says "Well, she is right here. Come along I'll introduce you two."
I turn to meet with the same lady that almost made me go into an illusion. She offers me a polite smile and I reply it back "Hello, you must be Ms. Othman? I am Thomas" I say while putting a hand forward.
She gets sort of uncomfortable at this sudden gesture and Michelle leans forward to whisper at me
"She cannot shake hands with you, She is Muslim so she doesn't prefer touching opposite gender unless for medical issues."
I nod at her and pull my hand back.
We make some small talk as Michelle leaves us to talk with each other.
And I must say I am impressed with the achievements she has made in her age.
After talking we get separated as the award ceremony begins. I just want this event to be done with because it's so uncalled for.
The last award arrives as the announcer calls me to give it. I get up from my seat and walk to the stage. As I open the cue card I see bold letters saying "Eliza Othman"
I say her name as I hear series of claps and congratulations. She walks up the stage with a radiant smile on her face with no sign of any arrogance.
After taking her award she thanks everyone and gives me a smile, I return it and walk downstairs.
The event soon gets over as my head gets stuck on one person....Eliza and I must anyhow attain her with any or every cost.
