I walked away from the fire. My web shooters were fried, and my suit singed. It was an electrical fire. I made it to my apartment, painfully and collapsed through the window. I was too tired to get off the floor, and ended up falling asleep.

I woke up to a phone call, it was the same unknown caller ID. I declined, I know why he's calling me. He thinks that he can con me into joining the Avengers by saying he'll give me my freedom, but I don't believe that. They'll drag me into some corporate war, and people will die. I can't lose anymore friends. I looked at my clock and got up.

I saw the news playing. George's new replacement was giving a speech.

"Um, today we mourn the death of George Stacy, he was a brave man. A husband, a father, and a friend. I know I have a lot to do to live up to his legacy, I will do my best. And as my first act of Chief of Police, I hereby put out an arrest warrant for Spiderman, AKA Y/N L/N for assault, aggrivated assault, murder. Including causing the death of George Stacy. Thank you."

He walked away. "Damn it." I cursed. My spider sense went off. I looked outside and heard people talking on the fire escape. "Yeah, the alien weapons deal is on ferry 11." I heard him say. "That's half an hour." I realised.

I got there and as I was spying on the suspects Gwen called me. "Don't pick up." I said, but the call was answered. "Y/n where are you? You were supposed to meet us today." Gwen said. "Something came up." I said, ending the call. I stole the keys one guy was dangling and jumped down. "Hey guys, illegal weapons deal was at 10:30, you missed it." I said and started fighting.

Whatever high tech weapons they had hurt. When everyone was back the FBI came and ained guns at me. "No, I'm trying to help." I said. I looked down at the parking strip and saw a man with giant robotic wings flying at me. I dodged the pulses from his rifle, webbing the wings shut. Eventually he dropped the rifle, breaking my webs. The rifle started to repeatedly discharge and I webbed it to the ground. Suddenly it exploded, cutting the boat in half.

I quickly ran to web the strong points together. After I had them I held the nose of the boat together with my arms holding onto webs. It felt as if my arms were tearing apart. Until the weight became nothing. I dropped to the ground, but I was okay. I looked out the window and saw Iron Man. "Hey Spiderman." He said in a disapproving tone. He took care of the ship and I slung away, sitting maskless on a rooftop.

He flew over. "Is everyone okay?" I asked. "No thanks to you." He told me. "You're not my father. And I'm not an Avenger so stop talking down to me." I said. "What do you think we've been trying to do?" He asked, stepping out of his suit as we stood facing on the rooftop.

"I'm not joining the Avengers."
"We can help you. Half of us have been in the same position. Half of us have been pardoned because we joined the Avengers."
"I know the real reason you want my help."
"And what might that be?"
"My help. To fight your civil war over the Sokovia Accords."
"I thought you would understand. You went unchecked, and Peter paid the price."
"Did you say something?"
"All I'm saying, is if you help me, I can help you."
"No thanks. If you'll excuse me, I gotta stop a guy from stealing your tech to make weapons."

I ran and jumped off the building. I heard something about the guy in the wingsuit going to rob a Stark warehouse. I perched on a lamppost nearby. I saw the guy fly onto the roof and place down devices that cut a hole into the roof leaving the wingsuit behind. I looked from the rooftop, he was about to steal a bunch of glowing purple kidney shaped objects. I webbed the ground next to him and slingshot my body at his face, feet first.

I landed and faced him. "You again." He said. "Look. I know Stark sucks, but you can't steal his tech." I said, standing up. "Guys like him, Y/n. They don't respect us. We're pawns, they step on our throats to lift themselves up. I'm doing this to show them we're not to be messed with." Vulture ranted.

I ducked my head. "As much as I agree with you, this isn't right." I said and lunged at him. I landed blow after blow. I kicked him hard and he skidd on the ground, and now his back against the wall while he stood up.. "Not so tough without your wings, huh?" I asked.

He smiled at me. "We'll see." He replied. My spider sense went off and I jumped up, doing a backflip as the wings flew under me, and straight into Vulture. I looked at him, he was impaled. "No." I said. Cops burst in. "Freeze!" One ordered me. "No, I didn't mean-" I gestured to the body of Vulture. "Hands up!" "I didn't kill him." I argued. "Please, I didn't mean for this to happen." I pleaded as more and more cops flooded the building.

There wasn't a way out of this. I webbed back through the hole in the ceiling made by Vulture's wings and ran away. "Where are you?" I didn't realise Gwen called me, and that I'd answered. "Was something happening?" I asked. "Dinner, with my family. Y/N if you're not here…" Gwen reminded me. "Right. I'm on my way." I said, turning the direction of my web swinging.

I stood as Y/N outside the place. I looked in and saw them all laughing. I saw George sit down at their table, smiling and kissing his daughter on the forehead. Gwen looked out the window and saw me. George did, too. "Promise me you'll keep her safe." George's words echoed in my head.

He faded, and Gwen was left staring at me. Her smile dropped, and I ducked my head before walking away. Gwen followed me. "I'm sorry-I-I can't. I-I see him everywhere. I don't know what to do-it makes-makes me-" I stopped with a sharp inhale in frustration for not being able to get my words out. "It makes you what?" Gwen asked. "It makes me not able to live with myself." I admitted.

Gwen's eyes locked with mine, even as I stepped away. "I thought it meant you loved me." "I do love you. I love you." "Then why isn't that enough?" Gwen asked. "Because, what if something happens to you, just like it happened to him because of me?" "Y/N," "No, wait!" We argued over who was gonna speak. "Wait! I cannot let that happen." I admitted.

I looked away from her still. "I may not be Ghost Spider anymore, I gave up my powers. But you're Spiderman, and I love that. But I love Y/N L/N more. That's worth it to me." She explained. "I can't lose you, too." "If because you can't lose me, we can't be together, who does that work out for, Y/N?" She asked. "I can't, I'm sorry Gwen."

She stepped away. "Wow." She scoffed. "You have done this to me again and again, Y/N. I can't live like this. I break up with you. I. Break up. With you." I watched Gwen walk inside the restaurant.

Luke POV

I walked from my kitchen, a bottle of water in my hands to my father's room. I set it at his bedside and looked at him. "Luke." He mumbled. "I told you my time would come. This is it." Dad explained. "Please-" "Let me finish. This disease is hereditary." I looked at his scaly skin, and his eyes that resembled that of a reptile, with a strange glow to them. He started to cough violently. "Dad?" I asked. He grabbed my hand. "O-Oscorp." He told me before he coughed more.

He eventually coughed blood into his hand, and the last thing I heard was the EKG telling me my father was dead.

I went to Oscorp. The receptionist called my name. "Mr. Osborn. Dr. Octavius has been waiting for you." She told me. "Has he?" "I'll show you to his office." She said and began walking.

Inside I saw a man with glasses working in a lab, a set of prosthetic arms in front of him. "Mr. Osborn-" He looked at me. "Luke." I said. "Luke, I'm aware of your relationship with Spiderman. And your father's disease. We're old friends, him and I." Octavius explained. "He never mentioned you." I replied. "Fitting. So, why are you here?" He asked. "My dad told me to come here, before he died. I just dom't know what I'm looking for." I answered.

He walked closer to me. "I imagine, me. I can help you with a cure." He started. I suddenly started to cough violently and fell to the ground. "This is it. You're dying." Octavius told me. "There's a way to save you." He told me. "How?" I asked, slowly bringing myself back to my feet. "Spiderman. His blood has the power to heal itself. It can heal you. You just need to get it."
