Gwen POV

I was talking with my mom in the hall, Y/n was okay, but sleeping.

"You're her, you're Ghost Spider."
"Yes."
"I should have known, he's- You two- Why not tell me."
"I didn't want you to worry, and you know how dad hated Spidermen."
"He would be proud of you helping people."
"Thank you."

I heard Y/n stir in his sleep. "I'll go check on him." I said, Mom walked off, and I sat next to my bed. I grabbed his hand. "It's okay, I'm here." I said. "Don't go." I looked up, Y/n looked at me, not breaking eye contact. "Don't go to England. Please, don't leave me." I laid down in the bed next to him. "Never." I held him close. "I won't leave you again." "I love you, Gwen." We laid together in silence, holding each other, falling asleep in the night

Y/n POV

I saw Luke smiling at me, Ock looked like he had been waiting a long time for this, and Electro was angry. All of them unleashing everything they had on me. I saw a flash of white and black come at me, but it was caught by one of the arms. Gwen was trying to loosen its grip on her throat. She struggled until she fell limp, and Doc Ock dropped her. His tentacle shot at me, straight for my face.

I woke up in Gwen's bed. Gwen was hugging me, snuggled in like she always does. I sighed, feeling her warmth against my cold bruises and cuts. I saw Luke in my head, his sinister laugh echoing as he saw me get closer to death. And I saw Gwen's limp form dropping from the roof. I pulled her tight.

Later that day I walked to Peter's grave. I sat down in front of it. "What did you do before? When you were faced with an impossible task? I don't know what to do. I can't save everybody this time." I stopped talking, waiting for an answer. "Right you're dead. You can't help me." I stood up, "Y/n?" I turned around, seeing the redhead. "Hi Mary Jane." I said, she walked over and hugged me. "He loved you, you know." MJ said.

I nodded. "Yeah, I know. He loved you, too." I replied. She let out a small laugh. "How are you doing?" She asked. "I'm okay. I've just been overwhelmed with things." I said. "Superhero things?" "Yeah." I laughed. "You?" "Taking it day by day. It's been hard without him. You know it best." MJ explained, after a few moments of silence, I spoke up. "It was nice talking." "We should get lunch sometime, catch up." MJ said. "Sure." I looked back at Peter before walking away. I remembered his most important lesson he taught me.

Flashback

I was on patrol with Peter. We were stopping a drug deal, and a bunch of criminals started to attack us. Peter hit one guy, he ducked as I kicked over his back, knocking the guy out. We kept fighting, back to back, as if we were controlled by one mind. There was one guy, a brute. Peter kicked the brute into the air, he kneeled down and I ran, I jumped off Peter's back. In the air I used my webs to slingshot kick the brute into the ground.

Peter fist bumped me. "Where's Gwen?" He asked. "Had a thing with her dad." I said. We swung to a rooftop, taking off our masks. "I've taught you a lot, over these months. But I've saved my most important lesson for now. You're almost ready to be a real hero." Peter told me. "I'm gonna say it exactly like my uncle did to me. With great power, there must also come great responsibility." I took it in. "I'm ready for it."

Now

I heard on the news of a breakout at Alcatraz. I swung there, it was an oddly pretty site, but terrifying. No clouds, a full moon. Spotlights shining on the compound, fire, and helicopters and cop cars on the way. I swung from the helicopter, landing in the middle of a riot. I began to fight the criminals, taking down as many as I could.

My spidey sense went off just as an RPG fired. I dodged, launching it into the air. I grabbed a hubcap from the ground and threw it at the escapees. When the parking lot was cleared I saw a light in the sky. Electro blasted a hole in the wall. I followed him, the whole group was in front of me. Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro.

I was frozen, not wanting to be hurt again. They all left. And I was too scared to stop them. "Responsibility." I said. I felt a surge in my body. I let it go, electricity flooded me and I jumped at them. I hit Electro, pushing off of him and I webbed one of the propellers on Luke's glider, causing him to sputter out and I kicked Ock in the face. Electro blasted me, I flew from the street all the way into the water. I floated to a barrel, watching my enemies get away.

I eventually got to my apartment. I saw an eviction notice on my new door, from the state of New York. I got inside and called my social services agent. "Eviction? Seriously? I'm not even 18 yet" I said. "Look, the state has decided that they can no longer provide you with housing. These accusations about you being spiderman and the crimes you've committed in doing so." She explained. "Or see it this way. A young kid, overwhelmed with responsibility, asking for a place to stay, and now you're kicking him out." I hung up on her.

I started packing my things, as I was doing so the door opened. Gwen came in. "Eviction? Are they serious?" She began ranting, going straight to the fridge, looking for a second and closing it. "Yes. I just called." I said. "You're not even eighteen yet." Gwen laughed at me, and her old adorable laugh resurfaced. "I know, I know." "Stay with me." Gwen said. "No, I can't. I don't want to intrude." I replied. "Please?" Gwen asked, staring into my eyes. "Okay."

Luke POV

We were in a warehouse this time. New headquarters. What dear old Y/n didn't know is we broke out a few friends. Flint Marko, or Sandman. Curt Connors, or the Lizard. And a new addition to our sinister six: Alexie Sistevich, The Rhino. We gathered around the table. "So what's up, Doc?" Electro asked. "New plan. We need Spiderman off the board. And his girlfriend, too." Octavius answered.

Alexei stepped forward. "I'll crush him." "Don't get ahead of yourself. He's taken half of us out." Marko said. "Not when we've teamed up. He couldn't defend against three of us, we've doubled in ranks, but so have they. We need to strike hard. When they're not expecting it, and the first step is to get him vulnerable, emotional and off his game. Lukas, you've known him longest. Any ideas?" Ock asked. "A few." I smiled.
