I don't own the SCP Foundation
Lucy POV

The week has flown by. I'm currently in my room, packing what I'm taking with me. They said my reassignment would be permanent. The rest of my clothes are in one of my suitcases. I'll be getting a new lab coat and other lab clothes at Site 17. I made sure to check that all of my stuff is, indeed, packed. Wouldn't want to leave anything behind.

My personal laptop is in my backpack. It's an old bag, I use it for hiking. But it's the only bag that won't be going in the baggage truck in the convoy. I have it, my phone charger, and as many books as I can fit in said backpack. Bright orange, with a whistle dangling from a strap. Completely clashing with the rest of my outfit. I'm just in casual clothes, since we're going to be driving for a long time.

Jack left yesterday, in his car. I assume he knows how to get to Site 17. Dr. Steel has invited us all to the Fourth of July party this year, since we all know how to get to his house.  I've gotten some new rules from Site 17.  I'm not allowed contact with Alita, for now.  That's fucking sad as hell, but I get why I shouldn't have been so attached.  Apparently, they were only letting me do this because people had better things to worry about than a near-harmless anomalous child in the break room.

No 682 to worry about there, so they care about this stuff.  I ponder what life will be like there, as I step into the van.  I'm sitting next to Dr. Diana Fields, a new Junior Researcher who was unlucky enough to be picked. "I'm kind of nervous.", she says, staring at the floor. "You get used to it.", I reply, looking at her. She looks young, for 26, and has black hair. "Why was your kid ever allowed out?", she asks.

"First of all, never call her my kid. She isn't, and I shouldn't have ever been so attached to her. Also, she's not really dangerous, and she was only ever allowed in the break room, with a few guards, and definitely not alone.", I reply. "Oh.", Diana says, before putting on her headphones. I stare out the tinted window, looking at the snow-covered plains. Peaceful, with only a few other cars on the road. The rest of the convoy is spaced out, as to not attract suspicion.

The time passes quickly, and I finish a few books before we arrive. The imposing-looking Site is tucked in a forest, its walls a cold gray in a sea of brown and white. The gates open, to let us in. Our doors are opened, revealing about five guards. "Right this way.", one says, leading us in. It's the same look as Site 19, except way smaller. We go through a few other doors, before being led to what I assume to be a central area. "You'll be shown your new quarters soon. Please wait for your baggage to arrive.", another guard says, before leaving.

"It looks the same as the other one.", Dr. Fields remarks, looking around. I wouldn't say that. This one has less of a cold atmosphere. Maybe because there isn't snow outside here. It's almost warm. A door opens, and Jack walks in. "Babe! Hope the drive wasn't too boring!", he jokes, before hugging me. "It was actually pretty quick. What's it like here?", I ask. "Pretty nice. Less to do here, since you don't have to worry about 076 escaping and killing everyone, or some idiot looking at 096.", he replies.

"Or 173 breaching containment. That statue scared me shitless when I first saw it.", Researcher Taylor adds.  He always hated 173, and I share his opinion on it.  That thing is creepy.  And I heard the story from Jack about it breaching.  God, I'm glad I wasn't there.  Our bags come soon enough, and I'm shown my new room.  It's the same size as the other, and I put my stuff there.  We're taken to another area next, where two people wait.

"Welcome to Site 17.  We were in desperate need of scientists such as yourselves, and I am glad that Site 19 had some to spare.  We are focused on the containment and study of humanoid anomalies, some of which are more dangerous than others.  If you see a man with metal arms walking around, don't worry.  He's allowed to do that.  His name is Cain, and he'll probably try to help you with whatever menial task you're doing.  He'll leave if you ask him to.", one of them says.  His ID badge marks him as Senior Researcher Dr. Michael Story.
