_____
Summary: You and your apartment in New York City, give something to Loki he is in dire need of; his last chance.
_____He needed refuge. He needed time. He needed someone who would be capable of protecting him – without his knowledge, of course. Someone who understood who he had been, why he had become that, and most importantly, how he didn't want to be that anymore. So naturally, Thor came to you.
Your good friend, the God of Thunder, turned up to your apartment one thundery afternoon, where he spent the next two hours begging you to take in his brother, Loki. He spoke of recent events that put his younger brother in grave danger, with the one and only Thanos.
Loki had come face to face with the alien beast that had once controlled him. The one who had tortured and used Loki as a weapon of war, and filled him with false hope of his rightful throne. This time, Loki managed to escape by faking his death by using an illusion.
You saw how terrified your dear friend was for his brother, as Thor knew that Loki was at his last hope. Although this time, as much as it still damaged his pride, Loki had agreed to the support from his brother.
Thor didn't need to spend so long trying to convince you of your help with Loki, you had already agreed near the start of the conversation, but you could see that Thor had a lot of emotions to release, a lot of fear to admit. You had always felt Thor's love for his brother through the times when the pair of you would get lost in conversation together in the tower.
Thor had told you everything about Loki- the good, the bad and the mischievous. He would soon leave to bring Loki to you within a few days, where the God of Mischief would be under house arrest – mostly for his safety on Midgard. No one, absolutely no one, apart from you and Thor, would know of Loki's presence on Midgard.. in your apartment .. which could prove difficult.
Why difficult may you ask?
Well, it could be the fact that your brother is Tony Stark. Oh, and you're kind of an Avenger yourself –now a retired assassin unless your help and skills are needed- you left that deadly life to become the Obstetrician you had always wanted to be. Thor and you had decided it would be for the best not to mention your relationship to the man that Loki had thrown out of a window, a few years ago during his attempt to take over Midgard.
You and Tony were very similar in many ways, you both gave each other shit all the time, pranked one another all the time, however, you were best friends who were very protective over one another. There were many the times it seemed you two could hear each other's thoughts... and you knew Tony would lose what was left of his mind if he discovered that 'Reindeer Games' had reappeared and had secretly moved in with his only sister.
A few days later, there was a knock at your door around three in the morning.
The two Gods quickly slipped through the front door before introductions had been made. You had never met Loki; Prince of Asgard, before. You only knew him through Thor's words and the overwhelming coverage in the media during and after the attack in 2012. You were aware that he was a rather handsome fellow - but as your eyes quickly raked over him, he looked like shit - as you had expected and planned for.
"You must be Loki. I'm glad you're here".
Thor introduced you to his younger brother. Although he didn't have his usual amount of energy to be as curious and charming as he usually was, he did manage to give you a neutral 'Hi', as his eyes roamed over your face, and then around his new surroundings. Thor had to go, his mission was to keep the avengers from your apartment, especially the frequent visitors – Natasha, Steve, Peter, Tony, Pepper and of course, your little niece, Morgan.
