Summary: Good friends who formed an agreement. Blind lovers who found their sight... eventually. And perhaps not at the same time.

Note : This one is a little sad. I was sad, and wrote this. Words are mirrors.
I also wrote this idea, because in The Light, the Dark & the Grey - we wont really be seeing this kind of angst between the pair. So I had to get it out somewhere.

"I can't do this anymore Loki".

Your stomach and heart were filling with doubt, with sorrow, with heartache. You didn't regret the sexual relationship that you had with the God of Mischief, on the contrary: it was the best sex of your life. Your past lives, future lives – you get the picture. For the both of you in fact. The pair of you had just gravitated towards each other from the moment you had first laid eyes on one another. That fateful day that Thor brought Loki back to Midgard. That life altering day when, somehow, your brother Tony agreed to let Loki move into Avengers HQ whilst New Asgard was in the midst of construction... maybe you did have something to do with Tony agreeing, just a little.

"Very funny, darling. Now.. come back to bed".

He actually thought you were joking. Of course he did. That iconic eyebrow raise was enough to know that he actually thought you were pulling your own prank of some kind. It was quite the opposite, as you stood there with your hands on your hips and your heart full of sorrow. You had fallen so fast for Loki Laufeyson. You two had fast become friends, and then good friends –which helped the others around him to start trusting him mor – then, things progressed. But the arrangement you two had was sex. I mean, you two hadn't sat down with a lawyer and had a contract drawn up which stated that your bodies were meant for sexual relations only, and as soon as you two were done with your daily sexual encounter, then there was to be no cuddling and sentimentality, and that business was meant to resume as usual. But that is also kind of what happened? Yet, there had been cuddling which really hadn't helped. Miscommunication at it's finest. In conclusion, the agreement was for fun.

"I'm not joking, Loki. I'm not doing this anymore. It's done. I'm done". When your face didn't crack into an uncontrollable smile -which it usually did whilst you were trying stay serious mid-joke- Loki felt the dawning of realisation, as it set upon him like a final, ending, sunset.

"You can't be serious, darling?". He stood from your bed, before he sauntered his way over towards you. A smirk he thought was of knowing, but it wasn't.

"I'm very serious, Loki, when I say that I'm not doing this anymore. So, collect your clothes please be gone before I get back". You felt your heart thunder that bit louder as your words finally set in for him, you could see it within his capturing eyes as they stared down upon you. He realised your seriousness, that you were ending this... thing. These emotions were enough, you couldn't bare another minute of being in love with someone who was not in love with you. Boy, had you really dug your own grave here. "I hope we can still be friends as we were before, there's no hard feeling from my end". And that was that. You walked back out of your room, and when you had returned after training with Steve and Nat, Loki was gone. You pulled the curtains, laid down in your bed, and cried as if you had never cried before.
