WHO IS THERE TO
SAVE YOU?

"Bye Chim! See you." Taehyung bid his goodbyes to his friends. A tiring day of school once again has passed and all he wanted to do is to go home and sleep. Well maybe there was somewhere else he would prefer to go, but he can't ask for that again.

He was there just this morning.

Taehyung wanted to pass the street when a car honked and he looked up. There was Minhyun in his silver SUV, an impatient look resting on his features.

"Get in the car," he ordered, as he rolled his window down.

Taehyung gulped, instantly feeling nervous. He slowly went towards the car, but before he entered it, he caught view of someone else. Someone he would rather be with right now.

Jeongguk's dark eyes were fixed on him, gaze serious. He was still in the school parking lot, now standing in front of his car, that he had left there the previous day where they decided to just ditch school.

Taehyung could feel his insides heating up by the eye contact and Jeongguk's burning eyes, but he quickly broke it off and entered Minhyun's car.

Jeongguk's jaw tightened when he saw Taehyung enter and he sat down in his seat, angrily slamming his door shut.

The car drive was silent, neither Taehyung nor Minhyun said anything. Taehyung wouldn't have anyways, but Minhyun being so quiet indicates just how mad he must be. The younger looked up at the hanging butterflies on the car's rear view mirror.

The peacefulness they represent, don't fit with the aura the owner of this car gives off.

Taehyung was definitely feeling scared, an uncomfortable feeling settling inside of him. He knows Minhyun was still mad about the day prior, where Taehyung wasn't at home and didn't answer his calls, even forgot about his existence when he was with Jeongguk.

But, otherwise, he knows, if he had his phone with him and he would've gotten Minhyun's call, it would have destroyed the evening he and Jeongguk shared in the older's garden. Taehyung wouldn't want to change it- not when it's such a nice memory.

"What did you do at that friend's house?"

Here we go.

Taehyung is not going to lie now. He doesn't know how many more lies he can tell, before he gets caught. "First, we were outside and played football, then we went to his house and ate something. actually I wasn't planning on staying over for the night, but it got darker sooner than expected.."

Oops. One more lie slipped out.

Minhyun's jaw tightened. "Why did you sleep over, for fuck's sake. Couldn't you just go home?"

"Do you want me to drive bus in the middle of the night?!" Taehyung irritatedly asked back.

Minhyun cursed under his breath. "Rather that, than having you sleep at another guy's house!"

"He's just a friend..." Taehyung defended, voice so small. Actually, he isn't. He doesn't need friends, he says.

And to be honest, Taehyung doesn't mind not being labeled as Jeongguk's friend. A secret is far more exciting.

"I don't fucking care, you should have let me know or something and I'd picked you up. You make it so complicated, why don't you just listen to me?"

Taehyung felt tears burn in his eyes in madness. He wanted to lash out at him so badly, but he held it all in. Just like always.
