Euphemia walked to the window and opened it , the owl in front of her had a letter tried to his leg
Gently untying it , Eupemia offered it a few treats and waited for it to leave but it didn't leaving the window open with a sigh she opened the letter

Euphemia sighed and sat down
Walburga Black while terrifying and intimidating did care about her family specifically Sirius
Euphemia never knew Walburga personally when she was younger but she did know Walburga's grandfather Cygnus Black II
Walburga and Euphemia made somewhat of an acquaintance when James and Sirius became friends
Walburga while visiting Orion one day at work had introduced herself to the older woman
The pair also exchanged letters regarding their sons friendship and Sirius leaving the Black household was no surprise
Euphemia remembered when Walburga was seventeen she had left for France and was engaged to a wizard there
She had returned to the UK three years later for Lucretia and Ignatius' wedding she didn't know what really happened
Dorea Fleamont's sister-in-law said that she and Orion had gotten drunk and had a one night stand and she had gotten pregnant and had a son

"I went to school with your grandparents Walburga....but I also know we're not here for friendly discussion.....so tell me what's the point of it"
Walburga sighed gripping her cup of tea a little tighter
"My family if you can call it that.....is in ties with the dark lord.....Bellatrix went out of her way and got the dark mark" Walburga said lowering her voice
"He's horrific the boy was" Walburga said
"I'am very well versed on Tom Riddle Walburga"
''I'm aware Euphemia.....because of Bellatrix it is expected that the next heir of the family...... Sirius follow in her footsteps-
Euphemia scoffed and looked at the younger woman
"Do you really believe that he would do such a thing?? He would walk out instead"
"That's what I'm counting on"
One sentence was all Euphemia needed for her to understand what Walburga's intentions were

"MUM! Hurry up!" James said running into the room
"I'm sorry love! I'm coming" Euphemia sighed tossed the letter into the fireplace
If Sirius knew she'd been talking to his mother he would run again this having no where to go
Marlene sat next to Fleamont as the rest of the McKinnon's filed into Potter manor
"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" Mal yelled as he walked into holding a pie
"Merry Christmas"
A number of greetings and salutations went around the room
Sirius awkwardly stood in the background not knowing how exactly he's supposed to fit in
"Oh! Sirius this is Leanne Mal's fiancé and Betty Matt's girlfriend" Marlene said pointing at the two girls who stood next to her
Sirius smiled at them and theh returned the gesture
"Sirius mate!!! Your playing goalie!!" Mal said patting Sirius' shoulder
"Must we do this every year?" Matthew huffed
"Well Matt some people like to have a good time.....it's called fun I think" Michael said
Mason scoffed and grabbed a handful of chips that were on the table
"Matthew and fun you'd have better luck getting Marlene to become a Slytherin"
"Oi!"
"Okay!! Children! Football" Malcom said
"What's football??" Sirius asked to which James went on to explain it to him
"So the aim is to get the ball into the net??"
"Yes!"
The boys all excitingly ushered out of the house

"Can we talk??"
"Yeah....after this ball thing though?? I really want to figure it out" Sirius said looking between the door and her
"Yeah okay" Marlene said looking up at him
"I'll see you McKinnon" he said kissing her cheek as he ran out the door
Marlene stood blushing while her hand went up to her cheek
What was he doing to her
A long whistle from behind her made her turn around to see
Euphemia, Melissa and her sister-in-laws looking at her with questioning looks
"Spill!" Leanne said with a smirk making Marlene let out a groan
