Once I was home I had to get my head Straight, this man who I had strong feelings for were from a criminal family, the guy had issues he lost his wife and baby but not only that, no no he lost pretty much his whole family. I get why he was mad, I'll forget about him And find a new job, I have to.

It had been a few weeks since I was fired, Jasper had been sending flowers to my apartment ringing and texting me but I ignored him, I don't want to speak to him, Iv seen enough.

Today I was meeting Charlotte for a coffee in town, she felt like she needed to explain to me everything, you see we have been pen palling since I was six years old, she knew everything about me yet I now realise I knew nothing about her.

Leaving my apartment to walk to the coffee shop, it was only round the corner, the autumn air hit me hard it was chilling today.

As I entered I noticed Lilly with Charlotte, they both smiled wide when they saw me. " sit down lexi" Lilly said with her warm welcoming smile.

" first I'm here on Jaspers behalf, please come back" Lilly said reaching for my hand, I wanted to move my hand but Lilly's soft kind eyes made me not.

I signed " why? He was nasty and screamed at me. He's been sending me flowers for weeks. Hadn't he got a new assistant?"

" no lexi. He wants you back Iv been stepping in for you but I'm flying back to london tomorrow, me and Lauren are moving over here and I need to help her pack"

I looked over to Charlotte who had her head down
" and what about you Charlotte? What else are you hiding from me?"

Charlottes face said it all, she was all sheepish and quiet.

" lexi you was just an employee to my brother but now he's realised you are much more. He's miserable without you"

" I didn't mean that. I wanted you to explain about your secret life"

Charlottes signed and hesitated before continuing " lexi please that's not fair, I didn't want you to know about my mafia life, my husband is the mafia boss, my dad was the boss before him, Jasper should of been the boss but he turned it down. Don't blame him for this. It was me I shouldn't of kept it from you, what you went through and seen at the party; that's my life not Jaspers. And I'm sorry"

I could see she was truly sorry, I don't appreciate knowing families sell woman to the mafia so they can be sold on for money, it's wrong and I wish I didn't know.

I guess I need the money Jasper does pay well.

" ok I'll come back. But I need to know where Jasper sees us, am I just an employee or more"

" Jasper is complicated. Just come back and see how it goes" Lilly said become looking at the time " I should go now. I'll see you tomorrow?"

I nodded " I'll see you tomorrow"
