Lexi had been in a coma for 10 days to let her body have a rest to repair the bleeding on her brain, Lilly stayed putting off her trip while  lexi recovered unfortunately I couldn't just stop working, I'm grateful for Lilly helping out, I told her To go to her daughters but  she wouldn't and insists on staying until lexi is awake, strangely I'd grown quite fond of her In the past few weeks she's been working for me, I don't get involved and I won't but that doesn't mean I won't care for the girl, she's one of my employees which I take care of.

Sitting in my office when my phone rings, it's paul the head of my security

" sir we have detained Mr scott King, he's now in questioning"

" dispose of him"

" right away sir"

Hanging up and throwing my phone on the table.

I'm ruthless when it comes down to people hurting someone I not only care about but my staff too, you see being a billionaire also has power, there's things only Lilly knows about  my family.

my father was the mafia boss which ended with him, when he died I didn't want no part in it, I never had anything  to do with it anyway, paul was his head man and now he's mine. Of course everything  I do is legit, except   the odd cocaine shipment with paul and tom who was my father bestfriend , but that's  it running the biggest media company in America I didn't need to be part of some big mafia, my father had the company to cover his criminal tracks so I Inherited   the company And his mafia,  I made the company what it is today a huge success, so  i  gave his mafia to my fathers best friend Tom who married my sister, it's a good thing really because how could a recluse run a mafia? I manage a company but that's easy I have staff to do things for me.

Pulling me from my thoughts was lilly rushing in arms flying everywhere shouting "shes awake  she' awake." Quickly following her to the hospital wing to see the most beautiful woman, sitting up having a drink with her long red hair all over the place, like it hadn't been brushed in weeks, that didn't matter she still made my world stop, she still made me question what she was doing to me.

Shaking my thoughts away and stepping into her room " I'm so glad your awake" I said smiling  sitting at the foot of her bed.

She smiled weakly " yes doc here said she didn't think I'd make it"  lexi said with a small chuckle

" owe my ribs. I'd forgot I'd broke one" letting out a small chuckle again.

Still trying  to laugh I see.

" lexi erm a detective will want to speak to you about mr Berry"

The police were still involved, but I'd sent  him to a warehouse with paul and Tom, they were ruthless mafia leaders so I knew he'd be taken care of and theyve get the police of the trail, but for now we need to play ball.

" where is he?"

" who? Lexi I asked

" s sc...scott?"

" we don't know" I lied

" the coward ran off. Lexi why did he leave you  for dead again?" I wanted to know the reason this scumbag thought he had the right to attack a woman.

" he came to my apartment demanding money"

I tensed my hands into fists until my knuckle turned white, he did this to her for money. Fucking coward.

Changing the subject " your pen pal charlotte has been texting and ringing I didn't answer but I replied to let her for you"

She smiled " thank you. I guess I won't be able to go her party if I don't recover fast enough"

I looked at lexi for her to explain it what party

" oh she does this party every year doesn't tell me what it is or for, we've been writing since I were 6 pen pals for a long time we've only met once she asks me to go every year but I can never go. So I was going to ask you if I could have the time off to go. It's in 3 weeks in floria "

" yes yes of course tou can go. Iv got a party in a few weeks in floria too with  my sister"

" oh you go to partys?"  Lexi blurted out. She looked to the floor I guess in embarrassment .

" I'm so sorry"

I laughed " no no it's ok. No I don't got you parties. I don't usually go I usually live chat the event. But this year it's a masquerade so I get to wear a mask and hide away at the back" I smiled grabbing her hand " don't worry I'm not offended"

Lexis cheeks blushed " I'm sorry.  This party is a masquerade too"

" don't worry lexi honestly  I'd ask the same question.  I'm are recluse I don't go out . And yes they are popular this time of year masquerade events"

Lexi smiled before lying back down " I'm exhausted"

" I shall leave now. Get some rest" I smiled before  getting up and  leaving the room.
