harrystyles: Lou
harrystyles: 21 days until I finally get to meet you

louist91: it sounds so soon and somehow like a million years away at the exact same time
louist91: but I'm so excited
louist91: and you're SURE it's alright with your family that I'm staying with you guys, right ?

harrystyles: Louis.
harrystyles: I'm sure.

louist91: I just don't want to bother them

harrystyles: You're not going to bother them
harrystyles: They're going to love you
harrystyles: I'll be surprised if they let you go back home without a fight

louist91: that's sweet, but I'm not entirely sure I believe you

harrystyles: Okay here, how about this: I'll go get Gems and Mum to take a few minutes to call with you, and you'll see just how excited they are to have you over

louist91: okay...

...

Nervously, Louis fiddled with the seam of his shirt as he waited for Harry's call. It's gonna be fine. They're gonna love you. Harry's comforting words echoed through his mind, and he took a deep breath to calm himself. Finally, his phone rang, and he answered with an easy smile.

"Hey," he said quietly. "It's nice to meet you guys. Or, I guess see your face, in Gemma's case," he laughed awkwardly, cringing at the way his words came out stuttered and clumsy.

Thankfully, Anne spoke before he had a chance to embarrass himself further.

"Oh, Louis, you don't know how lovely it is to meet you. I know Harry doesn't like to bring this up, but he really doesn't have many friends, and it's so wonderful to hear him talk about you all the time."

"Mum!" Harry protested, his face flushing as he poked his head into the frame. "I'm not that bad."

"Then how come I know the names of all of his siblings and his favorite color and that his eyes crinkle up when he laughs?" Anne challenged, and Harry buried his face in his arms, groaning as he disappeared off screen.

"I'll hang up the call right now if you don't watch your mouth." The words were meant as a threat, but the giggle lacing Harry's voice erased any possibility of taking him seriously.

Louis laughed, grinning fondly. "Well, rest assured that my roommate is beyond sick of hearing about Harry as well. I think he's actually considered putting duct tape over my mouth just to shut me up once or twice."

Anne laughed delightedly, turning to Gemma. "They're so cute, Gems," she gushed, and Gemma nodded in agreement, winking slyly at the screen as Louis blushed, biting his lip. There was something about Harry's family that reminded him of his own, and he already felt at ease with them. Maybe spending the week with them wouldn't be as awkward as he'd thought.

"Okay, that's enough," Harry interrupted, taking the phone from his mum's hand. "You've had your fun, I'm taking Lou now. Say your goodbyes, because I'm literally never letting you guys call him again."

Gemma protested loudly, reaching for the phone, but Harry yanked it away, and Louis watched on in amusement as he ran down the hall to his room, the phone shaking so wildly Louis couldn't even see Harry's face.

Louis could faintly hear Anne and Gemma's shouted goodbyes through the racket of Harry slamming the door shut behind him and bouncing down onto his bed, and he laughed when Harry's flushed face finally focused in the frame.

"Sorry about them," he apologized, wincing. Louis laughed fondly, shaking his head.

"Don't apologize. It was really nice to meet them. And you were right, I think it'll be a lot less weird to stay with you guys than I thought it would be."

A relieved smile spread over Harry's face, and he nodded enthusiastically. "See? I knew you'd like each other." He ran a hand through his curls, brushing them away from his face, and Louis allowed himself a moment to marvel at the younger boy's beauty. The way Harry's chocolate brown curls framed his face and brought out his eyes was the stuff of dreams, he decided.

He was startled out of his musings when Harry jumped, his phone clattering out of his hands and onto the bed.

"Shit, sorry, that's Gems, she's just banged on the door asking to talk to you again."

Harry's voice was muffled by the blanket, and Louis laughed as he heard Harry grope around the bed in search of his phone. When he finally found it, Harry smiled apologetically. "I'm not gonna put you through more of her today, so I'm gonna hang up now, bye Lou!"

"Bye Curly," Louis said, watching fondly as Harry hastily waved goodbye and hung up. He fell back onto his pillow, feeling a ridiculous grin spread over his face. There was just something about that boy.
