When I first started writing TMI, I never in my right mind thought for a second that I would get such an overwhelming response from it. I loved the Yellowstone series and was inspired to create my own character and just sat down to write it bit by bit without any long-term plans. I didn't care that I really didn't have a long-term vision for the story as a whole and just rolled with it as I went.
Well...then life took over. This entire year did not go at all how I planned it, from rejection to grad school, family deaths, to my most recent happening of starting a craft business, I have simply lost time in my day-to-day to keep up with everything.
So here's where I've had to make a decision. I love writing; as much as I love my new craft business and I am so excited to see it get off the ground, writing has always been a therapeutic hobby for me. I currently have three works-in-progress on my account: Fantasy, In Vain, and Take Me Instead. Fantasy has always been a spur-of-the-moment collection and I will continue to periodically add to it over time.
But now I have to pick between my two novels, and unfortunately, I have to choose In Vain. The biggest reason is that I have a very clear and thought-out plan as to how I want to see that novel unfold, so it's a lot easier to sit down and write chapters (once I find time in my hectic schedule of course!) than TMI has been. When writing TMI chapters, I do as much thorough research as I can, sitting in front of the screen and replaying Yellowstone scenes over and over again so that I get details, names, locations, and backstories right. That, combined with the effort to try and figure out the destination of each chapter is incredibly difficult to keep up at the moment.
This is not an indefinite end to Take Me Instead. I hate that I have to leave Marley hanging out here for the time being, but I want to do it right. I have my own pet peeves when it comes to fanfictions and I do not want to rush through chapters and decrease the quality.
I want to give a huge thank you to every single person who has liked, commented, shared, and read my story. Y'all are the reason I care so much about this, and why I promise to come back and finish it.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
