"I'm back~"
Melanie says, sliding the doors of the school open, walking proudly down the halls with a cigarette in mouth. Eyes on her, she was sure to get everyone's attention she wanted.

Small whispers of her family, of her being an orphan, of her being a druggie, a nobody, how hot she's gotten, how different she is, and why she's back. When she makes it to her friend, some girls walk away and a small tap on her best friends shoulder makes her turn around and pounce on her faster than lightening.

"Woah woah, easy Tiger! This is for the bedroom-"
Mel giggles, but her friend pushes back and punched her arm.

"That, is for leaving me in this hell by myself! I need you to tell me everything!"
She says, smiling up at her.

Melanie huffed, taking another puff and throwing it on the hall floor, putting it out with her boot.

"First, why don't we ditch?"

"Wh- I can't! You know I can't, I would, but I've spent it all on axle and everything-"

Melanie just scoffs and rolls her eyes, nodding and looking around and the peering eyes.
"Yeah well, I don't want to draw to much attention, just incase-"

"Taylor's!"
A small lady walks up, holding her notebook and pushes up her glasses, and Mel nods, and smiled at Serina.

"That, happens-"
She turns to face the teacher and scoffs.
"Brittany, oh. My bad. Mrs. Grently."

"You're needed in the principals office immediately..."
The teacher glared at her, picking up the now filter off the floor and walked off.

Melanie looked back at Serina and smiled.
"Like I said, we should forget this school, like I wanted to-"

"Your records show you've been absent-"
A tall black male slid some files on the desk, crossing his arms and leaning back in his seat.

"I know, Principal Russel-"

"So you know what I have to do, right?"
He stood up and walked in front of her, leaning on the desk with his arms crossed.
"You can't just, stay home and not have a Guardian to watch you. Your brother-"

"Is off at collage and my sister is with my aunt. If you understand this, which you should, is I took care of them while my mom and dad did nothing to help them-"

"Which is why child services needed to be contacted immediately."
He huffed, shaking his head.

"Look, Zeek. Is it cool if I call you that-"
Melanie moved closer as the Principal just scoffed.
"I need to make money to stay in my house-"

"Melanie, we have all been by that house, the police, the FBI, everyone. No one sees you there. You're really good at hiding, so you need to be taken in, you can't just work on your own. You only just turned eighteen, you have a whole semester to finished, then you can do whatever..."
The Man rose and handed her the files, shaking his head.
"You can have your old classes, but miss one more day of school, the authorities will be called. I'm sorry-"

Melanie huffed and stood up, raising a brow.
"So you're, not gonna send me away, what happened to me still being on my own-"

"You're eighteen now, you don't need it, but you need to finish, or you're removed from this school..."

"What if I don't wanna come back, would you miss me? Is that why you're keeping me here?"
Melanie snatched the files and got closer, making the principal shake in fear a bit.

"Come on Zeek, tell me, why are you keeping me here?"

"Melanie, that's enough. Go to class, now-"
He swallowed hard, watching closely as she walked to the door and let out a shaky breath when she left. As she walked out, Serina stood from one of the chairs and smiled.

"So?"

"I can't miss anymore days or I'll be removed from school- I just think the principal has a thing for me..."
Melanie locked arms with Serina, walking down the long halls towards the first class in the empty halls.

"Honestly, I'm telling you Mel, you're a fucking Siren. You say anything to anyone and you can change their minds... So, what are you gonna do?"

Melanie looked at Serina and shrugged.
"Have one last day, play some pranks on everyone, say bye to everyone, and never come back, never look back.."

"Wh- say goodbye to everyone... Even-"
Serina looked at her worried.

"Fuck that, you're never getting rid of me again.."
Melanie giggled and kissed her cheek, pulling her into the bathroom and cupped her cheeks.

"Run away with me..."

"Wh-"
Serina flushed and smiled brightly, giggling.
"What are you saying-"

"Let's get out of here, go away together. I don't need anyone but you, the world's made it clear."
Melanie then took her best friends hands in her own, pulling her closer and smiled.

"I love you serina, you're my best friend. I can't live life without you..."

Serina blushed even heavier, looking down and shook her head.
"But, I have my family... Axle... School to finish... I just, can't up and leave..."
She then looked up at Mel with a raised brow.

"How, did you get over the whole thing-"

Melanie smirked and shrugged a bit.
"Drugs, alcohol, some lays here and there. It's like, I'm numb to everything now-"

"You've, been numb to drugs melanie... Remember?"

"No, like... Emotions... I don't, feel remorse anymore..."
Melanie pulled her in close and pushed her hair behind her ear, Serina wrapping her arms around her neck as they got close together.
"I only have emotions towards you, I don't wanna lose you again-"

"I can't... I can't leave... But, it doesn't mean I don't wanna stay with you-"
Serina sighed and pecked her lips for a second, then pulled back.
"Melanie, I'll be with you til the end of time, but I need to take care of everything first... No running away, okay?"

Melanie of course sighed in defeat, hanging her head down and nodded.
"Okay, but I'm not coming back to school, only to pick you up and see you, okay?"

Serina nodded and smiled, taking her best friends arm as they walked out of the bathroom, and went straight to their first class.
"So, tell me everything-"
