Four weeks went by, Melanie had disappeared from everyone's life, not going to school, not showing up to Roberts old house. Not to Serina's, not speaking to her sister or brother. No one had seen her, no one knew where she was, or if she was alive. Or coming back at all. Serina ended up moving in with the Marcus brothers, Kyle staying where they were and taking custody of his brother.

But Melanie, she was out of her head. Traveling from bar to alley to clubs. She was surviving,  staying in a hotel room around the corner of Rouge. The streets were empty, only a few people walking up and down the streets as the neon lights of Rouge lit up the path to drown people in.

And there, was Melanie, working behind the bar and making multiple drinks for everyone who came up. She was of age, eighteen finally. As she went down the line and everyone stopped wanting a drink the next voice was familiar, soft, smooth, and low.

"Can I get a shot of whisky please-"

Melanie turned, her face in shock as she nodded and grabbed the bottle.

"Kyle, huh... I thought you'd be off watching Jacob take his baseball classes-"

"Ah you heard about that huh?"
Kyle chuckled and smirked, taking the glass from Melanie with a nod.

"I hear everything. Just because I never show my face doesn't mean I don't stalk you guys. You and Serina post a hell of a lot on instagram..."
Melanie just slid out from behind the bar she figure being hugged tightly by black laced revealing lingerie. Her heels looking like she could use the heel as a shank.

"A bar, really? You could have worked at somewhere better. But- I do admit, it suits you..."
Kyle's eyes glided over her figure and the outfit she had on, then back to her face and eyes.

"Good, because if you would have told me otherwise I'd have to kick your ass... What do you want from me?"
Melanie sat next to him with the bottle of Whisky, taking heavy chugs as he watched her.

He cleared his throat and looked down at the glass.
"I had so many ideas of what to say to you, but here I am speechless..."

Melanie set the bottle down, wiping her mouth and coughed a laugh.
"Wow, you? You always have something to say. So, not here to drag me back to the life of death? Sorry, not doing it. Devil's and all, I'm not dealing with that shit anymore..."

Kyle shrugged and sighed, leaning towards her.
"Not even if I told you, you could live at the house with me? Jacobs off with my mother again, and she wants nothing to do with me-"

"I wonder why, probably reminded her too much if Robe-"
Melanie choked back on her words and huffed a breath.

"Look, if you don't need me for a lap dance or a drink, then you're wasting my time..."

"Actually. If a lap dance is how I can talk to you privately-"
Kyle stood up and grabbed her by the arm, Melanie struggling a bit then huffed, following along.

"Kyle, what in the hell-"

When they got to the room, Kyle quickly shut the curtain and walked over to the chair, pulling her with him. He sat, pulling her on his lap and looked up at her.

"Kyle-"

"Melanie. So, you don't have to dance but I need to talk to you..."

Melanie slumped a bit, crossing her arms as Kyle held her by her thighs.

"Fine, what is it..."

"Axles a devil... He told me, after everything happened"

"Did he-"

"No, he was subtle about it... But, after that I did research... He, let me go through is scrolls. And, I found something..."

"Anything to do with Robert?"
Melanie moved forward a bit and Kyle just shook his head.

"No, but... I learned things about you-"
Kyle bit his lip a bit, pushing her hair out of her face.

"About... Me-"
Melanie then stood up and furrowed her brows.

"What do you mean-"
Melanie swallowed hard.

"I don't... I'm not allowed to tell you... But your parents, weren't your parents... They adopted you-"

"No, that's not right..."
Melanie scoffed, covering her face and walked off, shaking her head.

"Melanie, please listen to me... I asked the devil's what they knew about you, but they were just as clueless as I was..."
Kyle stood and walked over to her.
"But... There's more things for you to look at-"

Melanie turned, biting on her thumb nail a bit and then huffed a breath.
"Okay, so... Where are these things?"_

Kyle shook his head and wrapped his arms around her.
"I'll tell you more later okay? You need to go see everyone... Okay?"

Melanie sighed, taking a whiff of his scent in her nose, which he smelled just like his father but with cinnamon instead of pine trees.

"Okay... I, miss you-"
Melanie let out a shaky breath, pushing back from him and smiled up at the now tall child man.

"You always know where to find me-"
He tilted her head up with a smirk, nipping at his bottom lip.

She nodded and cleared her throat.
"I should, get back to work..."

Kyle nodded, pulling out a wad of money and slid it in her cleavage, kissing her forehead and walked out, leaving Melanie to her thoughts.
