Natalie loved Henry. Her parents did not.
Natalie and Henry met in 10th grade and had been on-again-off-again boyfriend/girlfriend. Henry was smart and kind, but he was not rich. This is why Natalie's parents were set on finding another man for her.
Natalie's parents owned Morgan investments, a multi-quadrillion dollar, international company. Because of this, they weren't really Natalie's parents-which made her loathe them. So when they step in to take control of her life, she puts her foot down.
Natalie's parents want her to marry William Danes, a rich, brilliant, arrogant playboy. William's parents want to force him to settle down, Natalie's parents want to deal a business deal and get Natalie a rich husband. What could be more perfect? A lot.
Henry puts up resistance, Natalie puts up resistance, William puts up resistance. No one is happy, and if anyone were to be caught cheating on the other (Natalie or William), their parents would not be pleased. At all.
So what else is there to do besides go along? Because doesn't mother know best?
