xxi. Streets ✴️
Jenni looked like she had rich parents and a fancy house to return to every night. Maybe her parents were CEO's... Or maybe they were just Vice Presidents of a company. Either way, Jenni dressed in fancy clothes every day and attended the Rutherford Elite Academy-which was a top-notch school only for the richest and the brightest. No one would've guessed that every night, Jenni returned to nothing and hid in her makeshift cardboard home, fearing for her life as drug dealers and gangs roamed the streets outside her house.
But that's exactly what she did.
Having parents who both died when she was 15 in a car crash wrecked Jenni's life, forcing her onto the streets. Her parents weren't rich, but they had managed to enroll her into Rutherford Elite. Jenni put her education over her housing, and every penny she made went to her education.
Jenni knew not to trust people. As soon as her parents died, Jenni ran. She didn't want to put her fate in the hands of the strangers called social workers. She never let anyone in, and she intended to keep it that way.
That didn't happen.
Ben was a student at Rutherford Elite. But it wasn't his participation or academics that got him there. His parents owned Rutherford Elite and they cried at the thought of sending Ben to a low-class public school. Ben and his family were rolling in money, the complete opposite of Jenni.
Somehow it worked though.
Until Ben wanted to go to Jenni's house and meet her parents. Jenni never took anything from anyone, but when Ben learns the truth, will she have to?
