~A few days later~

“How’s your leg?” Legoshi asked, sitting with Aimi in the cafeteria.

“It’s doing better. I’m still stuck in the nurse’s office for a few weeks, but at least I have somewhere safe to stay for the night,” Aimi said, eating her toast.

“That’s good,” Legoshi said, eating his breakfast.

“Yeah,” Aimi said, eating her toast. ‘Things have been very awkward since his confession,’ she thought, poking at her fresh fruit.

“So...” Legoshi said.

“So,” Aimi said.

“Anything new happened?” Legoshi asked.

“No...they still haven’t found Louis yet,” Aimi said. “I feel bad for leaving things off the way we did.”

“Have you tried calling his phone?” Legoshi asked.

“I can never do it. I dial his number, but before I can call it I stop myself,” Aimi said. “I think about things, like what if he’s mad at me? Or what if he just refuses to answer? Or I’m just wasting his time,” she said.

“Oh...” Legoshi said. ‘She’s still thinking about him. Is she still in love with him?’ he thought, looking at Aimi’s sad expression. “Hey, how about we do something today? Try to get your mind off of it,” he suggested.

“Okay sure, like what?” Aimi asked.

“We could just take a stroll after class,” Legoshi suggested.

“I’d like that,” Aimi said, smiling at him softly. Legoshi carefully reached across the table and carefully held her hand. Aimi held his hand, growing flustered as she drank her orange juice.

“Everything will be okay,” Legoshi reassured, making Aimi nod, setting her cup down on the table.

“Yeah. Thanks, Legoshi,” Aimi said.

“I’m here if you need to talk,” Legoshi said. “About anything,” he reassured.

“Thanks,” Aimi said again. “We better finish up our food, before it gets too crowded in here.”

“Yeah,” Legoshi agreed, before going back to eating his breakfast. Aimi ate her fruit quietly and got up to throw away her trash once she finished and picked up her backpack.

“I’ll see you after class,” Aimi said, kissing Legoshi’s cheek. “Meet you outside of the drama clubroom?” she asked, beginning to walk away.

“Yeah, and Aimi?” Legoshi called. Aimi stopped and looked back at him.

“Yes?” Aimi asked.

“Cheer up, it’s Summer,” Legoshi said. Aimi smiled softly at him and nodded.

“I will. I’m looking forward to the lavender that is supposed to bloom soon,” Aimi said, before waving at him and leaving the cafeteria to get to her first class of the day.

~A few weeks later~

Aimi sat on a bench, reading through the school newspaper, seeing that Louis was still missing.

‘I hope he’s okay,’ she thought, growing very concerned, their last moment together playing in her head over and over again. ‘I went too far calling him a coward,’ she thought, before feeling something gently push her newspaper down. She looked up and saw Legoshi peeking over the newspaper and looking down at her. “Hey.”

“Hey, you okay? You look upset,” Legoshi said, before looking down at the page she was reading. “Oh...”

“I just flipped onto this page,” Aimi said. “I was reading about the festival,” she said, flipping to the previous page to show him.
