~A few days later~
Aimi walked into the drama clubroom early that morning, finding Legoshi and Juno, a freshman club member, talking to each other.
“Good morning,” Aimi said, earning looks from the two.
“Good morning, Aimi. This is Juno, she’s one of the dancers,” Legoshi said, introducing the she-wolf.
“Hi,” Aimi said, waving at Juno.
“Hi, Aimi,” Juno said, staring at Aimi, before looking up at Legoshi, almost love-struck.
“I’m excited about the festival,” Aimi said. “I’m sure you’ll do great, are you here to practice?”
“Yes, Legoshi was giving me a few pointers,” Juno said.
“That’s nice. Mind if I see the progress?” Aimi asked.
“Of course,” Juno said, before starting to dance, Legoshi clapping at a steady tempo. Aimi watched Juno calmly and took mental notes. Once Juno was finished, Aimi clapped a little.
“That was good, but your arm motions are a little stiff,” Aimi said.
“Stiff?” Juno asked, sounding offended.
“Yes, try keeping your elbows slightly bent. Not all the way, just a little bit,” Aimi said, before showing Juno an example.
“Oh...okay,” Juno said.
“You could also point your toes a little more,” Aimi said, while showing her.
“Could you show me how you would do this dance?” Juno asked, seeming jealous.
“Sure, okay,” Aimi said, before dancing, listening to Legoshi’s steady tempo. Aimi danced, her movements seeming graceful, fluidly transitioning into each step. She continued to dance and finished, noticing the anger in Juno’s eyes. “Well something like that.”
“That was really good, Aimi.” Legoshi said.
“Thanks,” Aimi smiled at Legoshi, who smiled back. “Anyway, how is the dino?”
“It’s going along great,” Legoshi said.
“That’s good. I’ll come help tonight,” Aimi said.
“Great,” Legoshi said.
~Later That Day~
Aimi was carrying water over to Legoshi and Kai, who were painting the large dinosaur for the annual meteor festival. She walked past Juno and tumbled to the ground with the water bucket, spilling the water all over her dress. Legoshi and Kai ran over to Aimi and helped her up.
“Are you okay?” Legoshi asked.
“I’m okay, just cold,” Aimi said, shivering, mentally sighing when she saw Louis walking over to them.
“What happened?” Louis asked.
“I tripped over my feet and fell,” Aimi lied. She knew that Juno intentionally tripped her, but she didn’t want any trouble from the she-wolf. Louis looked at Aimi and pulled off his jacket, wrapping it around Aimi. Aimi looked up at Louis, the jacket falling off of her shoulder a little.
“You’ll catch a cold out here,” Louis said, before walking away.
“I’ll take you back to the sc-” Legoshi began, before the power went out. Sounds of panic were heard from many of the herbivores. “Carnivores, form a circle to protect the herbivores!”
“Where’s Aimi?” Legoshi heard Aoba call, causing him to go into a full panic.
“I’ll go look for her,” Legoshi said. “Stay in the circle.” Legoshi began running, looking for Aimi. He tried to catch her scent, which was hard with everyone running around in a panic. He called her name, getting more and more nervous. He finally caught her scent and followed it out of the festival area, before stopping near a tree, finding two figures, hugging each other close. “Aimi?” He moved closer, once the lights turned back on. Aimi was sitting by a tree, hugging Haru close, her tail coiled protectively around the small dwarf rabbit. “Aimi, are you okay?”
“Yeah. I’m okay. I had to find Haru. She hates the dark,” Aimi said.
“Okay. Let’s get you back to the school,” Legoshi said.
“Okay,” Aimi said, getting up, holding Haru’s hand.
“Oh, so you two know each other,” Haru said.
“Yes, we work on lighting together in the drama club,” Aimi said.
“Oh, okay. Well, let’s head back,” Haru said. Aimi nodded and walked over to Legoshi with Haru. The three walked to the train station and waited for the train.
“Oh, I never gave Louis his jacket back. Oh, well, it’s all wet now,” Aimi said.
“How did you end up wet anyway?” Haru asked.
“I tripped and fell with the water bucket,” Aimi said, continuing the lie.
“You’re okay though right?” Legoshi asked.
“Yeah,” Aimi said. “I’m just a little cold,” Legoshi nodded and looked down at his feet.
“I’m hungry,” Haru said quietly.
“Me too...I think I have some bell pepper slices in my bag,” Aimi said, opening her bag to dig through it. “Hmm...oh, here they are.” She pulled them out of her bag and handed the little bag of pepper slices to Haru. Haru grabbed a few out then handed the bag back to Aimi. “Did you want some, Legoshi?” Legoshi looked at her.
“Uh, sure, thank you,” Legoshi said, taking a few from the bag.
“It’s always good to have a few snacks packed just in case,” Aimi said.
“Yeah. I usually carry snacks during class hours, but I didn’t know we’d be in town so late,” Legoshi said. Aimi nodded and nibbled on a pepper slice. The trio talked and made a few awkward jokes, which caused them to nearly miss the final train back to school.
~Some time later~
“Well that was fun. Want me to walk you to your dorm, Haru?” Aimi offered.
“No, that’s fine, thank you. You’re welcome to stay in the garden shed tonight if you’d like. If your other spot isn’t safe,” Haru said, walking away.
“Thanks, Haru. See you tomorrow,” Aimi said, before looking over at Legosi.
“She seems nice,” Legoshi said, referring to Haru.
“Yeah, she’s a sweetheart,” Aimi said.
“So, do you want me to walk you back to Louis’s office?” Legoshi asked.
“Mm...I’ll sleep in the garden tonight,” Aimi said.
“Oh, okay, I’ll walk you then, is that okay?” Aimi smiled and nodded.
“Yes. Thank you, Legoshi,” Aimi said.
“No problem,” Legoshi held out his hand to her. Aimi took his hand happily and walked with him up to the garden.
“I really appreciate you walking me,” Aimi said.
“I want to make sure you’re safe,” Legoshi said, giving her a soft look.
“That’s really sweet,” Aimi smiled. The two walked up to the garden, and walked to the shed. “Well this is me.”
“Yep,” Legoshi said. There was a long silence between the two.
“Well we got quite a bit done today,” Aimi finally said.
“Yeah, we did,” Legoshi said.
“Yeah. Well I’ll see you tomorrow,” Aimi said. She turned to open the door, before being gently pulled back. She looked up at Legoshi and leaned in, kissing his lips softly. She pulled away shortly after, blushing lightly. “Goodnight, Legoshi,” She turned around and walked into the garden shed.
“Goodnight, Aimi,” Legoshi said, blushing lightly. Once Aimi closed the door and drew the curtain closed, Legoshi quietly exited the garden and headed to his dorm. ‘She kissed me again...what does that mean?’ he thought, entering his dorm room. He got ready for bed quietly, since his roommates were already asleep. ‘I’ll ask her tomorrow,’ he thought. Just the thought of seeing Aimi again made his tail wag with joy. ‘I think I’m in love with her.’ Legoshi’s heart raced as he suddenly realized something. ‘No, I am in love with her.’
