~The Next Afternoon~

Aimi looked up at the finished Dino in awe, paint spots on her cheek and forehead.

“It’s finally done. Great job guys,” Aimi said, smiling at the rest of the art department.

“You did a good job too, Aimi,” Legoshi said, before wetting a towel to clean her face off. He held out the towel timidly. “You have paint on your face.” Aimi blushed lightly, taking the towel.

“Thanks,” Aimi said, cleaning her face off.

“Well since we’re finished you wanna look around?” Legoshi asked.

“Yeah, let’s go,” Aimi said happily, linking her arm with his. Legoshi blushed a bit, his tail wagging happily. The two walked off after letting the rest of the art department know that they were leaving. They walked in silence, looking at the different booths.

“Hey, Aimi?” Legoshi asked softly, his heart racing softly. Aimi looked up at him, her ears perked up slightly.

“Yeah?” Aimi asked.

“There’s something I wanna talk to you about,” Legoshi said.

“Sure, what is it?” Aimi asked.

“Well I enjoy being around you, and just seeing you makes my day. I just wanted to say that...well...” Legoshi began, gulping nervously. A small group walked past, having a conversation, which caught Aimi’s attention.

“I’m sorry, Legoshi, hold that thought,” Aimi said, before walking over to the group. “Excuse me, did something happen to Haru?” The group stopped and looked at Aimi, getting nervous.

“Sh-she was kidnapped by the Sh-Shishigumi,” Mizuchi’s boyfriend stuttered out nervously. “My precious Haru,” he said, being comforted by his friends.

“The Shishi- what?” Aimi asked. One of the other smaller animals in the group explained what the Shishigumi are and how they’re a big deal in the Black Market and are dangerous, especially to small herbivores. Aimi grew pale and ran off to look for someone.

“Aimi?” Legoshi asked, seeming concerned and confused, following her.

“Where is he?” Aimi muttered, looking around frantically, before finding who she was looking for. “Louis! Haru’s been captured by the Shishigumi, we have to help her,” Louis looked unfazed, having already found out from the mayor. He turned around and acted as if it was nothing.

“It’s a shame, isn’t it? There’s nothing we can do,” Louis said, causing Aimi to stare at him in shock.

“Louis...” Aimi said. “Are you seriously going to turn your back on her? Leave her to die?”

“Like I said, there’s nothing we can do,” Louis said, turning to look at Aimi. “All we can do is move on,” he added before turning to walk away.

“You’re a coward,” Aimi said, making Louis stop in his tracks. He turned around to see Aimi’s face, tears running down her face. “Not to mention a womanizer. You took advantage of her, not caring that she was in love with you. Taking advantage of me...making me fall in love with you, then leaving me like trash,” Legoshi, who had heard everything, stared in shock, realizing the situation.

‘Wait...HE’S the guy?’ Legoshi thought to himself, anger beginning to build up. Louis looked down and sighed.

“Aimi...there’s nothing we can do. You’ll get hurt,” Louis said.

“I don’t care. I’d rather die trying than sitting here like a coward. I’m gonna go save her,” Aimi said, turning to leave. Louis turned around fully to follow her.
