"Alright, let's just push aside our emotions for a minute," I tried my best to sound confident and strong. "Our main priority is finding this Joker; I want revenge, as I'm sure most of you do too. So-"
"Sorry, just really quickly: what about your mum?" Avery cut in.
"What do you mean?"
"What's she going to do about Noah?"
"I dunno." I shrugged my shoulders, trying to brush it off. I really didn't want to talk about him right now.
"No, Avery has a point." Aiden stood up. "Your mother is going to come in and find your brother — her only son — dead in the living room."
"Yeah, but she also can't know anything about Aces." Axel stood up too.
"Except she can." Avery stood up.
"Everyone just sit down!" I yelled.
"Avery's right." Aiden sneered at Axel.
"How though?" he snapped back.
"Didn't your mum ever tell you how you were an Ace when you were younger?"
"AIDEN!" Avery gasped. Axel slowly shook his head as tears welled up in his dark, tired eyes. He shot out of the room and seconds later came the loud slam of the front door. "Well done," Avery said scornfully. "You've really done it now." Aiden rolled his eyes before running towards the front door. "No, where are you-" Before I could even finish, he was out of the house, sprinting down the streets. "Great." I sighed, throwing myself on the sofa and burying my face in my hands. Avery took a seat next to me and gently rubbed my back. "We're going to work this out together, okay?" She smiled at me.
"I love you."
"I know you do," she giggled. "I love you too."
"So, where do we start?" Just then, our phones buzzed in unison.

"Ooh, finally! You're making a start! This is getting slightly boring, so why don't we add a bit of spice to our game, huh? Here's a hint for you:

You've been here before,
I even remember what you wore.
Avery, this is where you made me a wreck,
Now you've put the noose 'round your own neck.

Come get me, Aces.
-Joker"

"Please tell me you know what that means." I stared blankly at the screen in front of me.
"I think I have a pretty good idea." she replied with anger burning in her eyes.
