"Sorry I took so long, your boyfriend isn't very quick."
"Nice of you to finally join me," I said sarcastically. "But he's not my boyfriend. I thought of all people, you should know that."
"He really loves you."
"Yeah, whatever."
"Why are you all in such bad moods?"
"Because you've been stalking us for the past I don't even know how long, you've kidnapped our friend and you've now trapped us in seperate rooms in a creepy, old, abandoned house. Is that a good enough reason?" I asked, faking a pout.
"Sure."
"Okay, what do you want me to do then? Kill someone? Eat a bug? Go skydiving? What will it be?"
"Um... I was actually going to ask you to go outside and dig up the whole ground until you find your key, but whatever floats your boat."
"Cool, see you later, or not; hopefully the latter."
"I like you."
"Great, now I will be leaving to carry out my task. Although I guess you'll be watching, as per usual." I assumed I was to go out the door to my right, and when I opened it, there was a spade lying on the ground in front of me, hiding in the darkness. "This should be fun." I muttered to myself. The wooden handle was cold. As I began digging, I felt the urge to try to speak to this creep. "Hey, Joker, I have a question for you." I called.
"Ask away." Came the reply.
"Why did you do all of this? What was the point?"
"Amaya took my girl. I don't understand why Avery would want someone like her."
"First of all, Avery has never been with anyone except Amaya. Secondly, excuse me?"
"People like Amaya shouldn't be here."
"What do you mean 'people like Amaya'?"
"You know exactly what I mean." I could hear the anger in her voice. Quickly, her tone changed. "Ooh, you're getting warm." I kept digging. Then, I saw a glimmer of light within the dark soil. It was golden, with a circular top, from which the centre had been carved out into the shape of a spade. "This is all you wanted me to do?" I asked.
"Well, yeah. You can unlock your door now, so go find your friends." I still had no idea where her voice was coming from, but that didn't matter. I rushed to get back inside, fumbling with the key, frantically trying to unlock the door. "Amaya! Avery! Aiden!" I called when it finally unlocked. The silence punched me in the stomach. "Hello?" I tried again. Then, the sound of a painful scream.
