Chapter Five: Drive to Survive

Liam POV

"Woah-ho-ho-ho. You built that?" Preston asked Calvin, as all of us walks over to him and Hayley, and their newly built motorcycle.

"Uh, yeah, well, sorta. I took off three Junker motorcycles and salvaged enough to make one." Calvin said. "Not to bad, eh?" He asked.

"I always wanted to learn how to drive a motorcycle." Brody said.

"It looks so fast. I like it! Calvin can I please ride it after you pretty please." Sarah said excitedly, as she bounces a bit.

"Don't get overly excited now." I said trying to calm her.

"Uh, yeah. Even better, you can be the first to test drive it." Calvin said.

"What? No, no way. You should definitely ride it first. You see how fast you can go, I beat your record." Sarah said.

"She's always competitive when it comes to speed." I said, and everyone laughs.

"No, really. Really, it's fine, um, seriously, it's cool. It's cool. Just... You can take it out for a test drive." Calvin said.

"Cal, what's the matter?" Brody asked.

"Yeah, you're acting a little strange about this." I said. 

"It's okay, just tell them." Hayley said to Calvin.

"I don't know how to drive." Calvin said, and we didn't really believe him. "Cars or Motorcycles." He added.

"Hold on, you drive your truck all the time, right?" Preston asked.

Calvin was about to say something, but Hayley beat him to it.

"Actually, I'm his personal chauffeur. You just never noticed." Hayley said, as she showed us the keys, and took Calvin's hand.

"I don't get it. You love to work on cars so much, why don't you like to drive em?" Brody asked.

"One time when I was little, I was driving a Go-Kart on a track and the next thing I knew, I was swimming out of a duck pond. And ever since that crash, driving scares me to death." Calvin said.

Brody thought for a moment. "Sarah, you're the speed expert. How about you teach me and Calvin how to ride a motorcycle? That way you'll see it's not so scary." He suggested.

"Okay, yeah, I'll make it my mission boys!" Sarah said.

All of us are now outside, and cheering Brody, as he drove his motorcycle with tricks.

"What? How did he learn so fast?" Calvin asked.

"You got this, Calvin." Preston said.

"You can do it." Hayley said.

"Yeah, right." Calvin said, as he starts driving his motorcycle which is considerately small.

"I thought I'd start him on small." Sarah explained to us.

"Ah." I said.

"Go Calvin!" Preston cheered.

"Yeah, you can do it!" I cheered.

Calvin ended up crashing into a metal trashcan, and falls onto the ground.

"Aw, Cal." Sarah said.

"You okay?" Hayley asked.

"That crazy motorcycle almost just killed me." Calvin said.
