REQUESTED: @obxasf - I did leave out one part of your request because I have an idea for a certain ✨moment✨ here in another chapter or two

Summary: You have to get your wisdom teeth cut out, and your loopy self becomes a little more loose-lipped than you mean to be.

~

You'd been putting it off for a few years now because the thought of surgery (even a noninvasive simple one) scared you. But when the headaches and jaw pain got to be too much, your dad strong-armed you into scheduling a wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

"Are you going to drive down here and take me? I can't drive myself," you say after he calls you one evening to tell you when and where your appointment is.

"Have one of the boys drive you. They do everything else for you, I'm sure they can take an hour or so out of their day to drive you there. You're a big girl now, y/n, and I think you can do this without me," he says to you.

So you gave in with a sigh, telling him you'd have one of them go with you as your driver. Of course JJ was the one to volunteer, saying he didn't mind to skip a few classes to take you. Pope and John B were conveniently busy that day, and you had the sneaking suspicion they weren't, but you didn't bother to argue since you had already secured a ride.

The day of the extraction, JJ picks you up from your apartment. You're nervous, and it's very obvious to him. "Hey, you ready to have your teeth cut out of your head?" he asks, trying to lighten the mood.

You scowl at him. "I'm fucking terrified, asshat. Have some compassion," you snap, folding your arms across your chest.

He laughs softly. "Sorry."

The drive to the oral surgeon is short, and you don't feel like you've had enough time to mentally pump yourself up. You're shaking a little as you climb out of the truck, but JJ makes no mention of it. He simply places a comforting hand on your lower back as he guides you into the office.

Unfortunately for you, the place is dead, so as soon as you fill out your paperwork, they take you back and prep you for the extraction. They talk to you a bit as they get set up.

"Now, I know this seems scary, but it's quite routine. Won't even take us twenty minutes to get all four teeth out," the lady says as she hooks you up to a heart monitor and prepares a gas mask for you. "Then you sit in recovery for a few while you wake up, we put in some fresh gauze, and you get to go!"

"Really? Twenty minutes?" you ask.

"Yep. Then you're only in recovery as long as it takes for you to wake up. It's usually ten minutes or so once we're finished. You have someone with you to drive, right?" she asks.

"Yes," you answer. "He's out in the waiting room."

"Okay. Is he pretty trustworthy? I'm going to have to give him all your aftercare instructions, plus your prescription for pain meds."

"Very trustworthy," you assure her.

"Great." She brings the gas mask up and places it over your face. "Breathe normally, and count backwards from ten for me."

You nod, taking in a deep calming breath. "Ten, nine, eight..."

The next thing you're aware of, you're coming to under bright fluorescent lights. You have a heavy blanket on you, and it feels cozy.

"You're awake!" The same lady from earlier is by your side, smiling brightly. "I'm going to give you a few more minutes to get your bearings. In the meantime, my assistant will change your gauze, and I'm going out to your driver to go over aftercare and give him your prescription order."
