Estelle slashed at the bushes as she continued walking through the woods. She was not having a good time. It had been a few days since she had sugar time with the class, and Estelle had spent most of her time dealing with the dark spirits roaming around Japan. It was a relief to realise that the number of them had not increased any further. But it was still a pain in her ass.

Thankfully, the support gear she had requested was given to her yesterday, allowing Estelle to deal with them quicker. Her abilities were good, but when she was up against spirits resistant to fire or had armour of steal with some dumbass weak point like the back of the knee. Estelle really needed her katana.

Walking through a few more trees, Estelle located another stalker. They were creatures that moved on four legs with a face full of teeth that opened up like a flower.

"Why do they never look pretty?" Estelle muttered out as she raced across the grass to attack. The Stalker immediately roared when Estelle reached its vicinity. Jumping over the crouching beast, Estelle made a swift turn in the air and stabbed at the back of the creature's neck. The spirit beast roared in pain and snapped its face towards Estelle as she jumped out of the way. It managed to land a few scratches on her arm from the plethora of teeth on its face.

Estelle grumbled in irritation as she ducked from an attack by the four-legged spirit. Using the fact it was in the air to her advantage, Estelle slid under the monster and used her katana to slice the underbelly. Her position prompted the Stalker's guts to spill onto her, causing her to groan in disgust.

Estelle laid there on the grass as the beast and its guts disintegrated away into the atmosphere. Estelle remained in place, tiredly gazing at the sky above her. She had thought when the war was over, she would never have had to face these creatures again. She had desperately hoped she wouldn't have. They were mindless creatures, lost in their own rage and never held any conscious thought. She had learnt that the hard way.

A very young Estelle gazed down at a werewolf from a distance. She had never understood why she needed to stay away from the woods. The scary stories the men would tell her had to be exaggerated; there was no way these creatures could be as evil as they say. Shuffling forward, the wolfman type creature sniffed the air quietly.

She moved forth ever so gently, her steps causing the sounds of leaves crushing under her feet. When she was at a more intimate distance, Estelle's eyes widened at the grotesque mutilation of the beast. It was as if a man and a wolf had tried to become one but had ultimately failed. The creature stood on two legs that looked human, but the top was all wolf; its continuous snarls were loud and deadly to her ears.

Realising that there may be truth in words given to her, Estelle moved back to leave. The branch underneath her foot snapped at the pressure. The werewolf ear twitched as it immediately shifted to the sound and howled to the moon.

It knew she was here.

Estelle quickly darted off through the trees as fast as her little feet could with a whimper. She couldn't fight that yet. Estelle barely had fire bending under her control. Weaving through the trees, Estelle's tiny heart accelerated when she couldn't remember her way back.

She was going to die.

The fright of being lost allowed the beast to catch up to her. With a snarl, the werewolf slowly crawled up to Estelle. Estelle's blood had run cold at the predicament she was in.

"You aren't as bad as they say, right? You wouldn't hurt me?" Estelle tried to reassure in lost hope.

The only response the spirit gave was another wail generating Estelle to take a few steps back. The creature kept propelling onward and eventually had come face to face with the child. Estelle couldn't waver her gaze from his rows of teeth perfectly capable of ripping out her throat.
