The days following her waking in a hospital room were dire. Estelle hated every moment she sat within the white walls, clean-cloaked doctors who checked up on her every few hours. Her only reprieve was the blonde by her side, who refused to go back to the dorms to rest in an actual bed. Their dispute reached the point where Estelle had demanded a doctor to place a smaller bed next to her own so he was no longer spending his days on that ugly green chair in the corner. She could not deny lingering guilt at how uncomfortable he had been.

Most of her time was spent sleeping, assuring Katsuki she was alright and scowling at every doctor who approached her. Her body would tense, but the ruby-eyed male's warm hands on her shoulders always managed to relax her enough for them to do their checkups.

Soon, Estelle ordered a big bucket of water to stay by her so that she could speed up the healing process. The quicker she was released, the better. Estelle abhorred the idea of waiting any longer than she should, especially when there was an ongoing war, and she just wanted to feel safe and warm in her own damn bed and within the blonde's embrace.

Her urgency forced Katsuki to snap at her, a low growl in her ear as he yanked her hands out of the water for the second time that day. "You're exhausting yourself even more by using all that energy. Stop and rest a little!"

Estelle begrudgingly relented, his watery eyes from when she awoke at the forefront of her mind. She didn't want to stress him more than she already had. Sometimes, she lay in her hospital bed and wondered what she had done to warrant such consideration from him, but no matter how much she asked or for how long, an answer never came.

Curdled around her heart, Estelle didn't have the energy to fight it. Her hands relaxed under his, and she leaned into him in their moments alone. No ounce of hesitancy within her features as she simply allowed herself to bask in it whilst she recovered.

He was so warm, comforting and safe. Estelle had never felt so cherished in her life. She purposefully avoided how elated Katsuki seemed to be at how she accepted every touch of his. A kiss on her forehead, her hand, her cheek. Katsuki readily took as much as he could, a grin and a flush on his cheeks whenever Estelle leaned into the touch just a little.

By now, Estelle felt she had recovered enough to return to UA. Bursting at the seams, she was so keen to get back. There was so much to do, many unanswered questions, and a bucketload of tasks under her belt.

For now, Estelle would take the day to spend time with her worried classmates. Mr Aizawa had visited briefly several times to let her know he cared. He also couldn't help but vocalise the class's worry each time, bringing her a bunch of get-well-soon cards and dropping them at the table before he left. She would never admit that she stood them all up on the windowsill to look at. And she blatantly ignored Katsuki's smirk when he suddenly noticed the cards' new placement.

As she finally requested her discharge from the hospital, Estelle lay back, deep in thought. The questions on her mind over the last couple of times veered to the surface again.

Was Anwir really here?

He responded lacklustre whenever she asked her teacher for more information on the new arrivals. Nobody had shown themselves yet, and they could not communicate with the spirits unless Estelle was there. So, with her out of commission, they had to simply allow the squads to do whatever they needed to fight the war within the city.

It had clearly quieted; most likely, Nyx had needed to recuperate from the sudden influx of opposing forces. That was beneficial for Estelle since it gave her some time to find out what the fuck was going on. If her squads were still fighting, who was leading them?
