Estelle accepted the civilian's gratitude with a small smile whilst the police cuffed the robbers. She was working another hero shift today, and it was filled with crime. Honestly, it was a little refreshing for Estelle because there weren't as many guts involved.
Assuring the civilians that everything was okay, Estelle set back into the sky to patrol the cities. The people would stare at the sky whenever she passed, pointing fingers in awe or anger as she sped by. The world was still conflicted on the Cambion. She knew it would take time to convince those that she was here to help; she didn't realise it would take this long.
Whenever she landed in an area, it was soon surrounded by journalists, protesters and those wishing to encourage her. It was too much for Estelle; it was too crowded. Estelle missed having her bubble; she liked her bubbles.
Nevertheless, she pushed on like she always did. Providing support when possible or just taking down the bad guys before the police even arrived. Why would she wait if a life was in danger? Apparently, that's what she was supposed to do if she wasn't in a hero agency.
Skimming down towards the street, Estelle came to an abrupt stop when she noticed an older woman attempting to cross the road. Racing down towards her as the car came closer, Estelle managed to dive and seize her. The female forced her feet to a stop as they skidded across the concrete.
Ignoring the crack she had made on the ground, Estelle checked over the woman to make sure she was okay. Sighing in relief, Estelle moved to reprimand the woman but was cut off as the sound of sludge rang out behind her.
Estelle's eyes widened at the circle of black goo covering her view when she turned around. Moving to dive out of the way, Estelle's shoulder was caught by a hand. Too surprised by the current events, Estelle's last view was the face of the frozen older woman with her hand raised. Her view turned black after that.
A few moments later, Estelle felt the sensation of being yanked. Nauseous as she looked around her, Estelle was internally furious at where she was.
It was the League of Villains.
And it seemed like everyone else got the invite but her.
Aggravation trickled her tone as she muttered, "you couldn't have just called?"
"Awh, it's so much more fun this way, princess. The name's Dabi," the man covered in burns remarked, a cheeky grin on his face.
Grunting in acknowledgement, Estelle turned to face the leading man, Shigiraki. He looked as childish as he always did at first glance. But, the more her eyes scanned over his frame, Estelle could tell he was getting stronger.
'That's not good.'
Frowning, Estelle wondered if the heroes were taking too long to do their damn job. They were just letting him become a figure that would bite them in the ass later. Did they underestimate him? Estelle figured that they did. When she had met him previously, his mind was still stuck in the teenager phase.
Realising the silence was lingering for too long, Estelle flickered her gaze back to a bare Shigiraki, his hand placed on the table by his side. "You are a hard one to catch", he murmured, his fingers swirling around on top of the glass on the counter.
Shrugging, Estelle muttered, "Really? That's funny since I don't recall myself evading anything."
Hearing the charred boy chuckle at her side caused her to look back up at the male. There was something familiar about him that she could not pinpoint, but again, Estelle could not find it within herself to care much.
"So, what do you want?" She questioned, already feeling the burn of indignation at the pit of her stomach.
"I think you know, princess."
