The Avengers mill about the quinjet, a somewhat solemn mood in the air as Clint lies on a table in the middle, Julia slumps on the floor with her back to the wall, holding ice to her head, and Bruce sits in a corner blasting classical music through his headphones. The only noise is the hum of the engine, as they cruise along. Aria stands upfront with her father; she stares out the window at the clouds below them as he pilots the jet.
"What happened back there?" she asks, cutting through the silence between them.
"What do you mean?" he asks, feigning obliviousness.
"Before you grabbed the sceptre, you started sweating... profusely. And you were calling my name, then you stopped and grabbed onto me... then acted as though nothing happened," she explains and raises an eyebrow, awaiting an answer.
His heart rate picks up a little at the memory but he shrugs it off, "Oh, it was nothing. I think the sceptre was just messing with me a bit. You know... alien tech's freaky." he fakes a smile for her, "Don't stress."
She turns and rolls her eyes, humming and expressing that she doesn't believe his lame excuse. "Thor, report on the Hulk?" Nat calls, as Aria joins the rest of the team in the centre of the ship.
"The gates of Hel are filled with the screams of his victims." the dopey god grins, though upon receiving a glare from Nat and a sharp kick in the shin from Astrid, swiftly changes his answer, "Uh, but, not the screams of the dead, of course. No no, uh...wounded screams, mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and, and uh... and gout." he fumbles to cover up.
"Good save." Julia mumbles, sarcasm thick on her tongue.
"Hey, Banner," Tony calls, "Dr. Cho's on her way in from Seoul, is it okay if she sets up in your lab?"
"Uh, yeah," he nods, "she knows her way around."
"Thanks." he lowers his voice to almost a whisper, talking to J.A.R.V.I.S, "Tell her to prep everything, Barton's gonna need the full treatment."
