I look at her, as she slowly opens her eyes.
"Are you stressed out?" Her voice is small, and her eyes bore into mine.
I grin.
"No...No, I'm completely myself."She blinks unanimously.
"What about you? are you in distress?" My voice low.
She beams, and I feel her dimple underneath my palm
"I'm completely myself," she says and I nod.
I haven't figured her out yet. So I don't know if her being her complete self is a good thing for me.
She rubs her hand on mine - that's still placed on her cheek. She slowly removes my hand and sits up.
"Here, you must be cold." She shrugs off the jacket and stretches it to me.
"I'm not, but you are, so just use it to cover yourself." I Standup and slide my hands inside my pockets.
"But it's cheap." her voice still low, so I can't tell if that was an insult.
I sigh, "Oh, yeah, it is. I'm sorry."
I reach for it, But she flinches it back. She chuckles. "I was just kidding."
I raise my brows. Was she? She sounded pretty serious.
She covers herself with the jacket, and I sit close to her, and this time - too close.
She scoffs. "It's cheap though," she smiles at me.
That does sound friendly.
"Yup, it is." I chuckle.
There's this peaceful silence, as she gazes at the heater.
"Can I ask you a question?" She asks. Her gaze still at the heater.
"Why did your parents separate at first?" She asks before I could approve.
I wasn't expecting that. Isn't it obvious?
"Um...they stopped loving each other."She turns to me.
"What caused it? why would you be so much in love with someone and then suddenly you stop?" She says in a disapproving tone."Maybe they saw the difference between them." I manage to say.
"And they didn't before they got married?!" She huffs.
She's acting the same way she acted at the cafe'.
She pauses.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to pry." she turns her gaze back to the heater."It's okay. They keep on having disagreements, and fighting over irrelevant stuff."
"Yeah, tell me about it." She shoves her hair behind her ears.
"Your parents were having trouble?" I ask.
She scoffs.
"You have no idea," She replies heinously.
"They Keep on fighting, arguing and...God! they were never on good sides. And that makes me wonder if I was a mistake, like their mistake," She says vilely."Sam you are not a mistake, your dad loved you." I try to soothe her.
"Yeah, and my mom? She doesn't care about me. She only makes sure I don't embarrass her with my lifestyle. She always wants to be in control."
Can I ever really understand her? I thought she and her mom would be besties since wretched people irritate them. But she seems to be different. I'm beginning to think that he was wrong about her. She might have done some horrible things in the past, but that doesn't define her.
Another thing I have noticed about her is that -she's soft-hearted and difficult to understand. And I seriously want to understand her.
