MORGAN.
I get into Rhonda's room, watching her as she sleeps when Veronica walks in.
"Hey boo," she says, her phone and car key in one hand.
I smile and stand up.
"How is she?" She asks looking at Rhonda.
I take a deep breath, sliding my hands inside my pockets.
"The doctor said she's weak cause of the anesthesia, and she'll get herself soon," I say.
I'm glad the surgery went well, but I just want to see Rhonda back to normal, healthy, and sound. Then I'll feel okay.
We space away from Rhonda.
"How did it go with Sam?" She asks.
I pause for a second, thinking about all the harsh things Sam blasted at me. She was way angrier than I expected.
"Veronica, I've never seen anyone as angry as she was," l state.
"Of course she's angry, you had a girlfriend, and you banged her. And it's more annoying that it's Aneesa. Why the hell would she not be angry?!" Veronica huffs.
I face her.
"How did you know about my relationship with Aneesa?" I ask curiously."Aneesa told Xavier, and well, Xavier doesn't hide a thing from me," she says.
I scoff as I look away.
"Just like he doesn't hide anything from Sam," I sneer. This explains why Sam was that angry. I and Aneesa were never serious, and I didn't love Aneesa the way I love her. I've never felt this way about anyone before. I'm sorry that I get to hurt her, but she shouldn't doubt my love, for anything.
"Mm mm." Veronica mumbles.
"But you guys still need to work things out, you know, because of the baby," she says sotto-vocally, and I shockingly look at her.I don't quite understand Veronica's true intentions about this issue. She talks about the pregnancy as though she wants Sam to keep it. But she's not that kind of girl.
"Do you...Do you want her to keep it?" I ask, with folded arms.
"What?!" She pushes back her head as she crinkles her face.
"No, not really. I just thought you deserve a say in this. I'm in full support of whatever you two decide.""Even if it means keeping the baby?" I ask her.
"Brian don't..." She says quietly as she shakes her head.
"Don't what?" I ask, looking down.
"Don't make things complicated for her!" She hits my arm.
"I wanted you to support her in her decision, not opposed to it," she adds.I don't know if I'm being greedy, but I can't let Sam go. If I'm going to have a family I want her to be the center of it, I want her to be the mother of my children. And I just can't let her slip away. I need her in my life. She completed me, she makes things matter, and she gave me the kind of happiness that I never thought existed, so please don't judge me for not being able to let a part of me leave.
"Veronica, I can't just -"
Rhonda coughs, cutting me off.
I rush to her.She slowly opens her eyes, "Sam?" She refers to veronica, who is just beside me.
"Oh dear, I do not look like Sam in anyways," Veronica says.
"Yeah, very correct," I say.
Rhonda gives a weak chuckle.
