Xavier being too harsh on him is way too much. But I did this, didn't I?
"Okey," I mutter as I stand up.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" I lean forward as I tell Xavier. We move a little from them.
"What's your problem? He's going through it, can you at least be cordial?"
He folds his hands at his chest as he sneers.
"Cordial?" He scoffs.
"You do realize if you had died you won't be saying this right now?""Yeah, I know he made a mistake but -"
"Yeah! He made a mistake and his paying for it, so why the hell will I be cordial?" He says angrily.
I keep quiet, looking at him for a few seconds. I don't know if I'm being unfair towards him but I don't want him to rub it on Morgan.
"Xavier..."
"No stop..." He holds out his palm.
"Ever since he came into your life you've been blinded, you see nothing else but him," he huffs and walks out of the cafe'He just points out how unfair I'm being, but I do love Xavier, maybe not the way he wants me to.
I stride back to them.
"Way to talk Sam..." Veronica seethes as I sit.
"So um, where are we?" I ask.
"I was thinking maybe we could order some bunch of girls for him," Lucian suggests.
I thought he might be joking but there was no trace of laughter on his face.
"What a brain you have..." Tracy tells him sarcastically.
"What if we throw a little party at my house after dinner."
Every Christmas eve my mom throws a dinner party for close family friends. Which are our families.
"That would work..." Veronica says.
We all agree on that.
Just before I drive home, I invite Morgan over for dinner, and he assures me that he'll come. I don't give him a ride home because I need to help my mom decorate the house and also prepare myself for the arrival of my Nana who is coming from Boston. She's trouble and equally sweet. I wonder what her reaction would be if she finds out about me being pregnant. I can't tell if she'll be excited or furious, her actions are most times unpredictable.
Just as I pass through the gate, glimmering lights sparkles around every tree. I drive slowly, looking at the beauty through the window.
I parked in the driveway. When I step out of the car, I don't recognize my house anymore, as it has been transformed into Santa's hideout. Yellow LED lights trim around the roof.
Light-up Snowman beside the stairway, -which has been lashed with snows. Wreath on the door, and at the top of the door are yellow fairly lights that spelled MERRY CHRISTMAS. On both sides of the door are four feet Christmas tree that is wrapped with twinkling lights.
I open the door and get inside.
I stand still, shocked at the overall transformation of the living room.
And well, my house is a messy beauty with Christmas accessories, and It ain't Christmas yet. There's no way one person can do all of this decoration, especially not Gina.
She steps out as I look around the room, even the staircase is decorated.
"You like?" She asks as she ambles toward me.
"It's beautiful."
"Yeah, it is," she says.
A delicious aroma swings from my nose down my stomach.
