"Ooooo, WHAT?" Melodie shouted out.
"OMG!" M'Liyah poured herself some more wine. "I mean, are you sure?"
"I had his dick in my mouth...yes, I'm sure. He came to my mother's house, called her mom, she called him son, and I swear I upchucked all the good food she made me."
"What kind of Wattpad nonsense is this?"
M'Liyah giggled at that.
"So you had sex with him...before you knew who he was?"
"I just told you, I met a stranger, I fucked him, kicked him out, bam, next day he is calling my mother mom. I freaked out! I ran out of there. Ran away from that mess."
"But why?"
"What do you mean but why? My mother...calls this boy son...so-called raise him, where do I fit in with that?"
"Well, he's not your real brother," Melodie said.
"Close enough!"
"Did your mother know?"
"No, but I am sure he told her everything, and now...well, I'm over it all. I'm over her...I'm over him. Everything is always so fucked up in my life! I can't have anything right, or anyone that truly cares..." She fought back tears, and she knew her girls could sense it. They came over and put their arms around her.
"Hey, stop that. You have us right here, we care, and we love you. Always will," M'Liyah said.
"And we may fuss and fight, call each other outta our names, bitch, but you still my bitch from way back in the day, so bitch the fuck up, bitch!" She laughed so loud and pushed Melodie from her. Leave it to Mel to change her mood that quickly.
"Gin, what else is going on with you? You meet your mother you haven't known most of your life and you just run? You always wondered about her. Remember we used to stay up late at night when we first signed, you were like, maybe my mom will see me now. Maybe she will come to Atlanta and stay with us. Remember that?"
She did not. She closed all hope of her mother ever connecting with her after years and years of waiting. By her eighteenth birthday, she was over it and forgot all about her mother. She was grown, she didn't need a mother anymore.
"I wish she would have picked me instead of him, that's all."
"You said you were going to give her a chance, you should give her a chance."
She did say she would. And she did not. Whatever happened between her and DJ shouldn't affect her relationship with her mother. She was not ready to face either of them again.
"Maybe."
M'Liyah gathered all the plates since they were all finished and put them in the sink.
"Anything else you want to talk about?"
M'Liyah knew her so well, from years of living with her like she was her sister.
"I fired my last manager...and attacked him. He probably has an arrest warrant out for me."
Melodie spit out her wine as she laughed. "Bitch!"
"Fuck him! Said no one wanted to sign me, which is probably true, but still fuck him."
"Why won't anyone sign you?" M'Liyah asked. "You're Ginger Motherfucking Hollands."
"Right!" Melodie added.
"Something about my attitude...my reputation...blah, blah, blah! I still can make a hit."
"I thought you liked being independent?"
