She was so tired. She did not know about the twins, but it had been a crazy week with all the activities. She learned a lot and had fun. The best part was getting to spend time with DJ. That boy...that man, really did something to her.

Instead of waiting for him to come into the house, she told her mother she wanted some fresh air before breakfast and waited for DJ in the backyard on the phone swing set. She felt like a kid again, but that's how DJ made her feel, reliving a better childhood in just a matter of days.

She did not miss her mother anymore, she had her.

She did not miss being an only child anymore, she had siblings.

She had a family now, something she prayed for her whole life.

She was ready to open her heart again, with DJ

Soon as he pulled up and parked, he walked around the back to get to the back door and then saw her sitting on the swing. He stopped, watched her, then headed over to her.

"What's wrong? Why are you out here?"

"Sit with me for a moment. We haven't had any time alone, just us."

He sat on the swing next to her. "I'm going to break this thing and the twins will kill me for it."

She looked him over. Dressed in gym shirts, and a crisp white tee, the man was finer than fine. His curly fro was fluffy and full, she wanted to run her fingers through it. Those thick kissable lips, it was not even right she could not kiss them right now. The way his arms seemed so strong, what a crime she could not be wrapped in them right now.

Those eyes, she wanted to stare into them all day and do nothing else.

"Girl, why are you looking at me like that?"

"Cuz," was all she said with a smile.

DJ jumped off his swing and stood behind hers. "Let me push you."

She giggled as he pushed her on the swing a couple of times, then stopped to kiss her neck. She hoped no one was looking out the back window watching them.

"Come on, we better stop before the twins run out here and want to play in the yard all day."

She jumped off the swing and followed DJ to the door. Before he opened it, he pulled her to the side, pulled her in his arms, and kissed her with so much passion she thought she would pass out. That was the best kiss of her life. DJ made her whole body weak and she wanted to stay right there with him, and finish things.

"Boy, why would you-"

"Because you're the best thing that ever happened to me."

Then he walked inside the house, leaving her thinking about his words. That man shouldn't say things like that and walk away. What the hell was she going to do with that?

She followed him inside the house.

"Hey you two, breakfast is getting cold," her mother said.

Her mom, David, and the twins were sitting at the table, nearly done with their food. If they were busy eating, they were not peaking out the window at them. She felt better about that.

She was sure she would have to tell her mother what she and DJ were up to, but she had to figure out things first.

Like if this was real.

"Where are you off to today?" David asked.

DJ looked around at Ginger, then the twins, and only grinned.

"It's a surprise."

"Do I have to do homework after this one?" Ginger asked.

"No," DJ replied
