"Do you two understand? You both need to take studying more seriously! Otherwise your grades will keep dropping.", Mr. Tanaka scolded them, placing one of his hand on his hips as he glanced at the two back and forth.

"I get it.", Kou huffed out, clearly irritated. Not wanting to look his brother in the eye.

'Why did I get wrapped up into this?! I'm not even failing.', Y/n bit her tounge, but she simply nodded while still listening to her teacher's words, unlike her male counterpart.

The said English teacher studied both of their expressions. Before letting out a defeated sigh, "Even if you're not exactly failing, with these grades, the chances of getting removed from the advanced class is fairly high."

The (h/c) flinched, surprised that her teacher was able to read her mind perfectly. Her little jolt didn't go unnoticed by the taller male next to her. And he scoffed in amusement, the corner of his lips tugged upwards.

His little antics earned him a glare from her.

"Kou! This is no time to laugh!"

The two simultaneously snapped their head towards their teacher. Surprised that he suddenly raised his voice.

Feeling both happy and excited, Y/n failed to contain her smile. 'Serves you right for laughing at me!', is what her eyes said as she locked eyes with the noirette.

Kou furrowed his eyebrows as he peered at the girl's smug face. His smile no where to be seen.

"You--", he paused, raising both his hands near her face, Y/n slightly pulled her head back, away from his approaching hands. Unfortunately for her, before she could retreat any further, Kou pinched both side of her cheeks prior to pulling them.

Hard.

"--That look on your face doesn't suit you. It's annoying.", he told her as she struggled to pull his hand off.

"What do you think you're doing?! Let go!", the (h/c) somehow managed to spit out. Her words were barely comprehensible thanks to Kou continuing to pull her now sore cheeks.

His lopsided smirk returned, "What's that? I can't understand you. You need to speak properly."

He subconsciously leaned down, closing in the distance between their faces.

"Mabuchi! I swear to god, you-- ow! Let go!"

The two students continued to argue amongst themselves. Prompting their teacher to gazed at them with an inquiring look.

His brother was clearly enjoying himself, while his friend was fuming with rage. They seemed close, but they were showing such conflicting emotions.

"Ah!", Mr. Tanaka gasped, finally reaching a satisfying conclusion. He hit his fist downwards into his palm, smiling proudly, 'This must be what kids nowadays call a friendly banter!'.

Mr. Tanaka smiled warmly, observing his brother's smile. Or... smirk?

"It's nice to see you both get along so well.", he commented.

The two mentioned students gawked at him like he had just grown a second head.

"Huh?!", they yelled in sync.

Their teacher tilted his head slightly, "You don't? But--", his eyes dropped down, landing his vision onto Kou's hands, which were still pinching the girl's face."-- You both seem close."

Upon realizing what his brother was referring to, the noirette pulled away instantaneously.

Finally free of his hold, Y/n immediately pressed her hands against her cheeks. Trying to relieve some of the lingering pain.
