8.

Where was Zan now?

Why doesn’t she just tell me straight up what happened?”

“I’m stuck!”

“So am I!”

“Greg!”

“Dad!”

“Mum!”

“Help!”

“Hello!”

Wow you almost sang that.

“I’m hear a little earlier than yesterday, to start bright and early,”

I have completely lost track of all time, day, date, month, year...it could be Christmas day or my birthday for all I know.

“I’m sorry I went so quickly last night, I’ve had another thought...”

Oh lord, help us all...

“I’ve decided to, well, since I am your social worker/councillor I am going to council you, I mean, what I’m trying to say I just because of what happened, it doesn’t mean I should be councilling you any differently does it? Good idea huh?”

I don’t really know if it’s going to be a good idea to be honest. I can’t answer questions, say how I’m feeling, and remember anything except odd moments of my childhood.  Yeah, I’ve got to admit, I wasn’t convinced.

“Let’s get started then, you see, the trick is to imagine waking up, think of it in your head. It works! It really does! Paint a pretend image in your head of you opening and rubbing your eyes, stretch your arms while you let out a massive yawn. Picture yourself peeling the duvet of you and heaving yourself out of bed, wearing your pyjamas. Think of it Haley, then, maybe you’ll wake up,”

Yeah I knew this wasn’t going to work for many reasons. 1) I am already awake 2) I never wake up like that anyway and 3) yeah, she makes me feel sick when she says things like that, it makes it quite hard to concentrate.

Oh well, worth a try.

I’m opening and rubbing my eyes, I stretch my arms up high while I yawn...oh dear I’ve creaked my neck! *ouch* I whacked my arms on the shelf above me. I peeled my duvet off and heaved myself out of bed. FREEZING! Quick! Back into bed.  *curse* I stubbed my toe as I tried to get back into bed. Right focus, out of bed. Heave bones out of bed. Walk. FREEZING. Rush to get dressing gown. DAMIT I’ve put my head in the arm hole and one of my arms in the head hole. My legs are freezing. Get back in bed with dressing down on. *beeeeep* text message, turn on phone. I’M LOOKING INTO THE SUN AND IT’S BLINDING ME. *squint* read message and text person back. Shut eyes really tightly as I turn on light, I opened my eyes gradually. I’M BEING BLINDED GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD. Oh damit I’ve just realised I’m in bed and I still haven’t got up yet.
