“Oh hey Mum!”
“I come back with...Gardening kit with tools and seeds, chocolate and wine...any good?”
“Brill, he loves gardening and the chocolate and wine give it that extra, you know, pazaz!”
“Pazaz?”
“Yeah! So, Mum what’s he doing for his birthday?”
“Really Haley?”
“Yeah!”
“Are you feeling okay?”
“Fine,”
“It’s just I thought you knew what he was doing for his birthday...”
“Oh, I do, I just...forgot,”
“You just forgot.”
“Yep,”
“Okay, well hopefully me telling you that he and Auntie Lizzie are going to Greece tomorrow rings a bell!”
“Greece! I mean, oh yeah! That rings a bell, I can remember now you’ve said that...”
“And please tell me you remember that we’re driving up to the airport to wave him off?”
“The airport in London?!”
“I knew you’d remember after I told you, so we’re leaving at about 8 to get to London at about...say 10:20, now their flight leaves at 12 but we don’t want them to miss it or anything, also...”
Her voice drained out because all I could think about was that we were driving to the airport, on the 19th of August, 2012.
This was not good.
It’ll all be okay, after all it was only a dream, one of those really clear dreams that get you thinking, well, I can safely say this has definitely got me thinking!
“Um okay Mum, yeah remember you saying that now,”
“Ah good, have you had any breakfast yet?”
