20.

“But you’re okay now aren’t you?”

Oh you’re still here are you?

“Haley, please wake up!”

How about no.

“Do you even want to wake up?”

The only reason why I don’t want to wake up is because I’m scared that the world on the other side will be worse than it is now!

“Do you know what happened after the funeral?”

No.

“You went home; you and your Dad went home...to find your house had burgled...”

This is almost getting ridiculous...

I mean WHAT?

“I’m sorry Haley,”

Oh gee thanks, that makes it a whole lot better.

“Life just seems to be going downhill at the moment doesn’t it?”

Downhill? Downhill?

To me this isn’t just downhill! This is us being on the biggest and best roller coaster in the world, then as it gets to the tip most top most but, suddenly all the seatbelts brake and we’re all falling, falling, falling. I thought I had hit the bottom, but no. I am still falling.

Constantly falling.

Not just going downhill thank you very much.

“It broke you, and it broke your Dad...”

What do you mean by broke?

“Well of course it didn’t actually break you physically obviously, but you were crushed, first the crash and now this, well you can imagine can’t you? I mean, it was you but you can’t remember can you...can you?”

No.

“You might remember and I might just be telling you what you already know, I’m sorry if I am but, I’m going to carry on, just in case,”

You do that.

“Seeing your house not only empty but trashed, left you deflated, you’d lost your will, both of you...and that’s where I came in...”

Oh gee really?

“You Dad, he thought to himself he’s not going to be able to raise you and father you on his own so, he got me, to help. And I hope I did!”

Ahahaha, I bet you didn’t.

“So, then I was in the picture, and what a state you two were in!”

Easy!

“I guess knowing about your house is a bit of a downer...”

But it doesn’t even compare to the events before...

“But I doubt you even noticed that bit of information over the others...”

True.

“Oh Haley! I am so sorry! Things just didn’t work out did they?”

No they did not.

“I saw your house, I saw what it looked like, it was awful, and you had nothing! No ornaments because clearly they had been stolen, no knives no forks, you had one broken chair one alive chair, the sofas, well, they were ruined weren’t they?”

I don’t know, were they?

“You lived in that broken home that you couldn’t really call a home anymore for days after the theft. I don’t think you even saw what they did to your Mum’s, Megan’s and Josh’ room because you didn’t go in there, you just kept the doors closed all day and night, not going in there, not once, not even to see the damage....”

Well the damage had already been done.

“You knew nothing would ever be the same ever, ever again so you refused to go on...you wouldn’t let go of the past...and I thought you did Haley!”

Either I did or I didn’t!

“I thought after lots of talks with me you knew you had to but now I’m not sure!”

Woah! Calm yourself!

“Ugh Haley, I’ve had enough...”

You’ve had enough!

“Not of you but everything else, this whole situation, I’ve had it up to here! It’s driven me up the wall, why can’t you just wake up so you can at least answer me back!”

I can’t, don’t you see! I physically can’t do it!

“Right let’s get going, no need for anything emotionally draining!”

Life is emotionally draining.

“You didn’t go to school for months-which is understandable, but one thing’s for sure; they won’t be letting you back!”

Ha.

“Don’t you see Haley? Don’t you see?”

See what? No.

“I’m all you’ve got! Little Zan Bullcoch is all you’ve got, in the world, ever, okay?”

Oh.

No.

Wrong, miss Zan Bullcoch (haha) because I have my Dad, and I will always have my Dad, okay?

Nuff said.
