Chapter 12: The Day Has Finally Arrived

    Carol was at the train station. She got on a train to District 1 when the train to District 1 arrived. Carolyn took a seat and plopped herself on it. She watched the trees go past by. Carol was about to go to the dining hall until she got tapped by the shoulder. She was suprised to see McKenna. 

      "Hey McKenna." Carol greeted the brunette.

      "Hello Carolyn Faye." McKenna smiled.

      "What am I going to do at District 1?" Asked Carolyn.

      "You'll be filmed at every district for a week," McKenna went on. "the shots that you're going to be in mostly is going to be made into a movie for the Capitol people to watch."

       "I understand, but why me?" Inquired Carol.

       "Because you're a great swordman." McKenna explained.

       "A good swordman when I'm surrounded by fake people." Carol snorted out. 

       "You're going to arrive at your destination tomorrow," Said McKenna changing the subject.

       "I'll go into my room then," Carol spoke still disappointed.

       "Okay," McKenna said. "g'night."
  
      "Night." Mentioned Carolyn heading to her room. The minute she got into the room, she was suprised to see the same exact bed she slept at the plane. Carol rushed quickly to the bed and sighed loudly. The bed was very soft. She got up and headed towards the table where food was filled. There were roasted chicken, soda, orange juice, and basket filled with fruits in it, ham, rice, mashed potatoes, hamburgers, french fries, and many more. Carol grabbed a plate along with utensils and a cup. Carolyn sat down and began to take a hamburger, a handful of fries, one scoop of mashed potatoes, and a strawberry. She filled her cup with soda. Carol has never tasted something like this but has heard of it before. Carolyn remembered when she was young, she was about to drink soda when Effie came running to her and saying it was bad for her to drink. But since Carol was older now, she could drink it. She took a little sip and moaned in delight as the refreshing liquid traveled down to her stomach. It tasted really good. Carolyn digged in her mashed potatoes. She finished her mashed potatoes in a few seconds since she was starving. She also tried out the hamburger which tasted really delicious. The Carolyn took a bite out of a french fry. The way the fry tasted in her mouth was exotic. After eating, Carol set the plates, utensils, and cup in the sink. I'll clean these up tomrrow, said Carol in her mind. She then covered the food so that way insects wouldn't crawl all over it. After doing that, Carol put on her black night gown and rested down to bed. Carolyn closed her eyes and got ready for tomorrow.
