This is it, boys, this is war, what are we waiting for?
Why don't we break the rules already?
I was never one to believe the hype
Save that for the black and white
I try twice as hard, and I'm half as liked
But here they come again to jack my style.

The day of the Potter's Christmas Eve party arrived faster than Harry had hoped. He wanted to talk to Draco and make things right, but he was a lot more nervous than he should have been to see him. His mum had them cleaning up all morning and now they were all sitting on the couch watching movies with Remus, Sirius and Marley too. It's been such a peaceful holiday, Harry's not ready to get back to school and have to deal with being Harry Potter... part of The Family Who Lived. He just wanted to stay here and be Harry.

The Longbottom's were the first to arrive and Harry was excited because he had only seen Neville twice since holiday started. He also was glad that Draco wasn't the first to show up, because that would have been extremely awkward. Harry and Neville were sitting with Ephie and Marley when The Weasley's and Narcissa and Draco popped through the Floo right after each other.

Ron immediately made his way over to Harry and Nev murmuring something about Fred and George driving him mad, but Harry drowned it out when he saw Draco standing there. Suddenly all the things he wanted to say vanished from his head. He couldn't drag his eyes away from him. It had felt like such a long time since he'd properly seen Draco. He was politely talking to Mr. Weasley about something, standing a little away from the fireplace and he hadn't even looked over in Harry's direction. He was wearing a nice green button up and slacks. He looked really nice. If they were on better terms Harry would tell him that. Finally Draco looked over at him and did an awkward smile and wave. Harry motioned for him to go out to the balcony. He raised his eyebrows and seemingly excused himself from the conversation he was having with Mr. Weasley.

Draco closed the Balcony door as he followed him out and Harry took a deep breath.

"Hey." Harry said, dumbly.

"Hi." Draco replied.

"So... it's... I just... wanted to talk." Harry was trying very hard not to make eye contact with him because he knew if he looked him in the eyes it would all be over. They needed to talk about it. Draco needed to tell him what was going on.

"Right... I figured as much." Draco said shortly. Harry tensed a bit. Maybe Draco wasn't ready to get over it. He still seemed like he was more angry than wanting to forgive.

"Er... well. I wanted. I'm. I'm sorry for what I said, especially what I said about your dad... and I'm sorry for the fight. I... I don't understand how we got to that point. We've always been able to talk to each other. And I'm not trying to put all the fight on you... but you said everything was Ok... and then it suddenly wasn't. Just... can you please tell me what happened between you and Blaise? Please? Because it's clearly a problem and I just want to help you... I mean don't you get that? I only ever want to make you feel happy. I don't like being the reason you're upset." Harry breathed out deeply and thought for a second, to make sure he'd said everything that he'd been rehearsing in his mirror for 3 days. He seemed to have hit all the points.

"It's... it's kind of a long story." Draco said, looking down.

"Ok... we have plenty of time right now." Harry said. He knew he was pressuring Draco a little bit, but Harry felt like he deserved to know.

"So you know how Blaise's dad and mine are friends. Blaise's dad thinks that my family are "blood traitors". That means pure-blood families who don't really care about blood status and just all that rubbish." Draco explained. "Now... he's kind of right, the Malfoy name is kind of spoiled a bit in that way because my mum and dad got divorced and mum and I don't buy into any of that crap. But my dad is very much still a giant prat about all of that. He never liked that I was friends with you and Nev and especially Ron.
