"We will have to carry the orcs away from the road but we must do it at sundown so no one can see it," I pondered this. "We must keep moving or the others will become suspicious," an idea came to me. I took off a ring I had on my left middle finger.
"What will we do?" Fili asked.
"Hold this," I handed the ring to him. "Don't lose it or I swear that you will feeling both the sharpness of my tongue and sword."
"What is it?" Fili admired the thick band that shown like the moon.
"You will find out soon enough," I smiled and winked at Kili. I gave a fake cry and screamed, "My ring! It's gone!"
"But you just..." Kili started but Thorin smacked him along side his head. We all looked at him and he nodded. "Oh," he breathed and realized what I was doing, "Where? What does it look like?" Kili said loudly now.
We all pretended to look for my ring for several minutes before heading back to the others. I looked down and Fili and Kili spoke fake words of comfort.
"It's okay," Fili said once we got to the others.
"Yeah," Kili said, "we will stay and help you look for it."
"Look for what?" Bufor asked with a puff from his pipe.
"My mother's ring, it's gone," I said sadly.
"We need to press on," Thorin pushed past us and to his pony.
"But uncle, surely we must..." Fili started but Thorin cut him off.
"No we must keep moving," Thorin answered.
"I will stay and help her," Kili said.
"As will I," Fili agreed. "We will rejoin the company when we have found it."
"No Fili your place is with the company," Thorin answered.
"My place is with the person who needs my help the most and that person is Kiti at this moment," Fili glared at Thorin's back.
"Let's go," Thorin ordered and they all mounted without question. Gandalf however winked at us as they rode off. He knew our plan.
As soon as they passed over the hill and we could no longer hear the ponies whining, we bursted out into laughter. "It seems we fooled them all," Fili laughed.
"Even the old wizard!" Kili doubled over.
"I fear everyone but the wizard," I smiled and wipped tears from my eyes. "He seems to know my plan but will not tell the others."
"I thought you don't cry," Fili smiled and leaned against a tree.
"Tears of sorrow and sadness are very different from tears of joy and laughter," I answered with a smile. After several silent moments, I sighed and said, "Now my able bodied men, let's carry some orc away."
Kili laughed and ran over the hill and Fili looked at me. I shrugged and we ran after Kili laughing.
"How can we get all of these away from the road and set them on fire all in several hours?" Fili kicked an orc foot.
"Well we have at least 3 hours before sunset," I said looking at the sky. The rain had stopped now and the sky was clearing. "We need to take the orcs at least a half mile off the road. How long would that take you per orc?" I asked forming a plan in my mind.
"About 30 minutes at the most," Kili guessed.
"We should be good," I said and nodded. "You will carry an orc between the two of you and I will carry one myself," I nodded.
"How will you carry a full grown orc by yourself?" Fili asked in disbelief. I laughed and willed the vines from the trees to lift up one orc. Fili shook his head, "That's cheating," he smiled and nodded to Kili. I walked on and they followed. As soon as we found a clearing far away from the trail, we dropped the bodies. We went back and got more and came back and this continued for a while. Once we finished the sun was sinking low in the sky.
"Now all we need is a match," Kili rubbed his hands together.
"Or an elemental," I smiled and made a fireball in my hand.
"That works too," Kili smiled and I laughed. I threw the fireball at the pile and it immediately caught on fire. We stayed there for a while before something bad happened.
"Kiti, you coming?" Fili asked as he and his brother started to walk back to the road.
"Yeah, I just thought I heard something," I strained my ears but it was too late.
"You did," I heard a thick accent say behind me. A heavy club fell on my head and I fell down.
"Kiti!" Fili yelled and tried to rush to my aid but a giant thing kept him. Then I lost all consciousness.
