Back in Mount Ronmit...

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"$1 Million, King,"

"1? I was expecting more for this toy!"

"Well, we saved, that's great." King states as Harry hands over the tiny wooden box to him.

"I will have it open very soon." He speaks to himself.

Focusing back on the sketch he's been making before Harry entered the room, he continues,

"What about the family of that police officer? Still revolting?"

"The ones you had the head chopped off?" King nods like it's no big deal.

"Ah, his wife is persistent,"

"She is trying to contact higher posts."

"You didn't threaten her?" King clenches his jaw but manages to keep his thin calm.

"I- Not yet. I mean, a little outburst is expected, Dylan. He was her husband-"

"Silence. Her. Too." Harry was taken aback. He looks at the monster disguised as a man, who has no heart, no feelings.

But he wasn't always like this, Harry thinks.

He has been serving Wyvern for a long time. Before Dylan, he served Gerald and both of these old pants were best friends.

Harry has seen King's childhood, his teen, he was such a sweet boy back then but now? The man standing in front of him is no longer the boy he used to play with. That sweet boy died years ago, this man has committed crimes far evil from murders. He's been cruel, he has snatched families, love, and has shown no mercy.

He is the King now. He is nothing but a death machine.

-- Two hours later --

"King, your dinner," Rose speaks through the doors of his office.

"Take it to my bedroom, I'll eat there."

"Okay," She replies before heading to his bedroom. It's been days since Rose is serving him his food in his room, King no longer eats in the dining hall.

He has started acting weird. He can't keep his calm for long these days, bursts on anyone doing the slightest mistake. Even Rose can feel his cold behaviour towards her but manages to brush it off every time.

What Joseph told her still knocks in her mind now and then, but the fact is that they don't know a thing about King and these people.

Life is treating Rose pretty well these days, she is doing well in her studies, no bullies to make her day tough in the university, mostly because everyone fears Tyler.

She met Andy yesterday, he is coping up quickly. Andy and Christian are planning to open a cafe, so they're busy these days. Busy and happy.

Rose places the plate on the side table attached to the bed.

She turns around and finds King already standing at the door.

She passes a short smile before leaving, but the moment she walks past him, King gets a hold of her wrist.

Rose immediately look up into the green eyes with a question mark evident on her face.

"Eat with me." He commands bluntly.

Before Rose could say something, King speaks again,

"Don't flatter yourself, I've got a few things to discuss with you. So grab your dinner and come back here quickly."

"I wasn't flattering myself, King."

"Go now!" He orders again, maintaining his cold tone.

"Yes, I will leave the moment you let my wrist go." She replies, King almost gasps and leaves her wrist swiftly.

Without catching a glance at her, he lands on his bed.

Rose smiles invisibly and leaves to take her meal.

Moments later, she slides back into his bedroom. Working for quite a time here, at least she has memorized the confusing corridors of this mansion.

She notices that King hasn't started to eat yet. He's been waiting for her.

"Here, sit." He taps on the bed, beside him. Rose obeys him.

ROSE'S POV

What now? Should I start eating or wait for him to start first? I mean, I don't know if it would be good manners to start eating right away.

By the side of my eye, I see him initiating. Okay, good. Now, I can eat too.

"How is your university going on?" Huh? My university? When did this catch his interest?

"It is going okay,"

"Is anybody bothering you there? Do you feel any kind of danger?" Why is he asking such questions?

But if I think about it, sometimes I do feel that I'm being watched. It's strange.

Am I in danger? But nothing has happened to me. Ah, stop being a narcissist, Rose, no one looks at you!

"No, King."

"How is chasing the bad guys going on?" I ask, I mean, I should return the favour, right?

"Chasing bad guys? Who told you?" He lets out a laugh, showing off his dazzling white teeth.

"Oh, I know already, Tyler told me-"

"He told you we chase bad guys?" I nod while eating. Why does he sound so surprised?

"Okay," I could feel him smiling. He continues,

"It's going okay, though, there are a few more people who need my attention," He turns his head to me. I look into his eyes, they look joyous.

"And I am going to get a hold of them."

"Do you, kill those people?" As if my mind spoke on its own, in a split second I realize what I just said.

"No,"

"Worse." He kept his cool.

Worse? What can be worse than killing someone?

"I have a private party to attend, I want you to be my date for that." I almost choke on my food the moment his words leave his mouth. Thank god, I wasn't drinking water.

"You would be safe, I will drop you at your house after the party and-"

His sentence was interrupted by a knock at the door.

I get up from the bed, upon opening the door I see two familiar faces and both of them don't look happy to see me.

Tyler and the blonde I saw with King.

"What are you doing here?" A huge question mark is very much evident in his tone and on his face too.

"I asked Rose to eat with me, Tyler,"  King replies before I could say.

I open the gate wide open to welcome them.

I hug him, "Hi," I whisper in his ear. Pulling away from him, I smile at the blonde. "Hi, I'm Rose,"

"Hannah." She replies and her gaze lands straight on the man sitting on the bed.
