11.The Market, Dark Knight and Assassins

A knight in black armour had been following us ever since we had left the fight. But whenever I suggested that we were being watched, he disappeared and the others said I was just being paranoid.

We arrived outside Tara. There gates were protected by heavily armed knights. There was a market that many people from all over Ireland came to sell and buy goods. Everyone seemed really interested in a large bulletin board placed in the center of the market. A wanted sign was posted up. If me or my friends (except Jake) were brought to High King Liam dead or alive, the capturer would be rewarded with 10 acres of land (per person).

Suddenly I was grabbed from behind into an empty stall. Someone covered my mouth so I couldn't scream. A hooded boy with green-blue eyes, held a knife to my throat. He seemed a year or two younger than me but he was holding me above the ground with my hands pinned between my back and the wall of the stall. 

"If you scream you will just alert the guards." he whispered removing his hand from my mouth but still held the knife under my chin. 

"Why do you care? Do you not want the ten acres of land?" I asked in a low tone. 

"Why does the king want you and your friends dead?" he asked, ignoring my question. 

"Because he thinks we're rebelling." I answered. 

"Really? Are you?" he questioned.  

"No. I just wanted him to stop from starting a war with my town." 

"Well you obviously don't know much about King Liam. He won't admit to being wrong. You will be killed anyway." he warned. 

"And once again, why do you care?" I questioned. 

"Because I want the king dead. You could join us." 

"Who's us?" I asked. 

The boy whistled and three hooded girls came into the stall. 

"Oh. Well I don't know if rebelling is a good idea." I said. 

"Get the others. No suspicions." the boy ordered and the girls ran out again. 

Very soon, they came back with my friends, covering their mouths like the boy had done to me.

"You don't want to alert the guards." one of the girls told them. "Now what do all think of joining us in taking down the king once and for all?"

"I'll do it." Jake said instantly.

"What?" exclaimed Ruth.

"Shh! They were going to kill you back there. I won't let them hurt you." he told her.

"Awww, I think i'm going to cry." Charlie joked.

"Well then i'm going too." Ruth decided. In the end everyone agreed to fight against the king.

"But who are you and what do you do?" Niall asked.

"I'll explain when we get back inside Tara." the boy said.

"Um... We can't really just walk into Tara if we're wanted." I pointed out.

"Don't worry. I have a plan." he answered mischievously.
