"Did you find what you were looking for?" Kelsey asked me as I sat on the edge on the lake. Ellen was relaxing in the water, I think it was Bethany who was also relaxing, I think it was Aisling who was swimming up and down the lake, Ruth and Taylor were splashing each other with water and Kelsey was at the edge of the lake talking to me.
"Yeah...." I was thinking of whether to tell her that Payton was my brother or not, then I decided that she would probably tell me if she was in my position. "I found out that Payton is my brother."
"What! Really? Well he seems to be an OK boy but he's kind of creepy."
"Yeah, kind of." There was an awkward silence which Kelsey interrupted.
"Why don't you come into the lake?"
"Oh right! Sure." I took a few steps back and cannon balled into the water. I surfaced beside her shivering. The water was freezing!
"How is everyone acting as if they're not cold?" I exclaimed. Kelsey laughed.
"You'll get used to it."
Someone screamed in the house and Emma and Eve stormed out and ran into the forest.
"Whoa! What just happened?" I exclaimed.
"Want to find out?" Kelsey smiled mischievously.
We both got out out and headed into the forest, our clothes were still wet and I still hadn't gotten used to the cold.
"How do we find them?" Kelsey wondered aloud.
I pointed at the footprints in the mud. They led towards a big tree that was situated beside the river that ran from the lake.
"Hey where are you two going?" Ruth asked jumping out from behind us with Taylor.
"Shhh!" Kelsey well... shusshed. "Listen."
"I can't believe it! We don't have any parents?" I heard Emma complain.
I was confused. They did have parents. There parents were the most powerful people in Drogheda. Had they heard news? Had Lord Jay and Lady Caroline been killed? Ruth must have thought about this too because she gasped. The two sisters stopped talking.
"Who's there?" Eve called.
"Quick in the bush!" Kelsey whispered pulling me in. But they had heard us.
A few minutes later Emma and Eve were staring at the four four of us.
Kelsey cursed. "Busted." she muttered.
