10.The Rescue

We were passing Navan when we caught sight of the knights from Drogheda leading the families to safety. But soon they were surronded by King Liam's forces. They were wearing green, white and orange. The colours of Ireland. The people of Navan huddled into the center of the Drogheda and Navan who made a large protective circle around them. Then the two armies fought.

We watched the battle in horror. We didn't know if we should fight or keep going. If we kept going they could all be killed. But what difference would we make. We would be killed if we stayed.

Kelsey said she was going to fight becase Josh could be there and so we made our desicion. We would fight. We charged into the fight once again.

We fought for what seemed like ages, but we were no match for King Liam's forces. We were surronded on all sides. One of the knights with Drogheda pulled Kelsey back into the crowd of the remaining soldiers. I guessed it was Josh.

A soldier from Tara stepped forward and removed his helmet. We all gasped. It was Prince Frank, the heir to the throne. He was smiling smugly at us. He had short dark, brown, curly hair, brown eyes and was slightly taller than me. He carried a net in which he tangled an attacker in, and a sword to kill them with. He didn't look much but he was definetly a skilled fighter.
"Face it, you lost. I don't know why you let girls fight, they're useless." He pointed at the net lying on the ground. Ruth was tangled in it.
Prince Frank was knocked to the ground. Jake stood over him, he held out his hand and caught a knife thrown to him and he cut the net.
The fighting broke out again but this time Niall dragged me out of the war. My friends were waiting for us.
"Josh said we needed to keep moving south before we're brought back to Lord Ozzie." Kelsey explained.
No one argued, we just mounted our horses and kept moving.
